Asus eeepc 1005 hab webcam

Try downloading your webcam driver from ASUS's website.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "ASUS Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Webcam drivers.

Try using ManyCam.

You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com" (without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use, and you will always know where your webcam software is.

Have you check the camera in the device manager to see if everything is ok. The webcam should be listed under Imaging Device in the Device Manager in the Control Panel.

You might try downloading and installing the webcam drivers again.

My -ASUS X83VB-X2 win7 64- was working perfect but suddenly 3 very bad things happened: 1) The web cam is not working any more, did disapear and can not even be found in the Devices Admin., 2) The...

I agree, it is most likely a bad driver. When you go into the device manager, do you see any exclamation marks in yellow triangles? That would indicate a hardware problem. If you go into the offending hardware component, there should be a button that says whether or not the device is working properly and also and update drive button. Try updating the drivers and see if that works. The webcam could be reinstalled using the disk that came with it. The driver may not be Windows 7 compatible so if you tell me the make and model, I could try to get an updated driver for you.

Let me know.

GETTING MY WEB CAM WORKING

First, check to make sure that the webcam is enabled in the Bios. Once this verified (and if you do not have the driver installed), go to forum.eeeuser.com and search for the webcam driver for your model.
