Question about Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2 Motherboard

1 Answer

ASUS P5B-MX MoBo Very low sound output.

Bought this board a week ago. Installed XP Prof. with SP2 Version 2002 ran an update from Mircorsoft. Realtek onboard audio runs on High Def ALC 883/ALC 662 drivers. Supports six channel output. I am currenty useing 2CH output. I have all my setting to high volume in all 3 the realtek controller the win vol control and the player vol ctl.
I fail to get amplified audio. The output is too low. Barely audible. Please advice. I have hooked up 150W speakers - brand new. I had the same problem with Vista Home premium running on intel board with realtek HD.
I have tried sevral diff. realtek audio drivers - does not solve the problem.
Please send me a link to the hotfix for XP to support HD audio.
Thank you for your time.

I have formatted my desktop and freshly loaded Windows Xp Prof. SP2. Mother board is Intel D845PEMYL. Sound is not coming

Hi.

You need to go to www.realtek.com

Select ac'97 audio.

Then select your operating system and file version that you want.

I recommend the .exe versions, they self extract and have the installer built-in to them.

After you get it installed, reboot your computer, and the sound should then be working.

I hope it works for you as well as it did for me, and have a good day.

I HAVE JUST INSTALLED XP-SP2. BUT I HAVE LOST MY MOTHERBOARD S/W. NOW,HOW COULD I INSTALL MY REALTEK SOUND MANAGER??? I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP. PLZ.

First download Realtek* ALC Audio Driver .

How to Install
1. Download this file to a folder on your PC.
2. Double-click the filename to launch the installation
IMPORTANT: Audio drivers may fail to install in Windows* XP 64-Bit Edition. Symptoms may include error messages, such as "Error in installation" or "Unknown error". Microsoft's Update for Windows XP x64 Edition (KB901105) fixes this issue. After installing this update, the audio drivers for Windows XP 64-Bit Edition will successfully install.

H D Audio Driver fails to install

Have you checked to see if the driver is already installed, and the volume is just turned down? (Start> programs > accessories > entertainment > volume control) If so, try going into Device Manager (right click My Computer > properties > hardware > device manager) See if the sound card is showing up there as a yellow question mark or other error icon, it will stand right out. If it's there, right click, and uninstall it. Now (still in device manager) press the button that looks like a computer screen with a magnifying glass on it, that will scan for hardware changes and pick up the sound card, which windows includes the driver for automatically. If this still doesn't work, try downloading from realtek here, and installing that. Hope this helps.

Audio driver

The GA-7N400 Pro 2 uses the Realtek ALC650/655 Audio AC'97 Codec for onboard sound.

Here is the site you'll need to go to.

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=1756

I would recommend that you be sure to install ALL of the basic drivers. This includes not only the audio drivers but the CHIPSET drivers as well. Especially since this is an nForce 2 board. Those boards are rather touchy. Chipset drivers will keep the system more stable and help it to run more efficiently.

You may also download more up-to-date drivers for the audio from RealTek's website at:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#AC

This should be easy... :)
