Is your fuel cap missing the hold down that keeps it from falling out of the tank.if the keeper is missing from fuel cap, the valve goes in the cap.if the cap is together then it just sticks in the fuel tank hole in the top...... hope this helps, let me know.................

The large line from the purge valve goes to fitting p/n 530023877 that alows you to install the one way valve { duck valve} in the top corner of the fuel tank . Install the line in the tank thru the large hole on the right side pull line into the tank until there is enough to install the fitting and the valve .Then pull back until it is in the top of the fuel tank . DO NOT PULL TO FAR OR YOU WILL BREAK THE FITTING . Shorten the line and attach to tank side of purge valve. Small line from purge valve goes to bottom fitting on carb. Small line from left side of fuel tank has the filter and goes to top fitting on card

Poulan woodsman 2150 starts & runs for a few

This is fuel starvation, start by replacing the fuel filter inside the fuel tank, use a piece of bent wire to hook the fuel line and filter out of the tank, check the condition of the fuel hoses up to the carb, any signs of leakage and you will have to change the hose. See if this works before we go into the carb to locate the blockage.

Diagram for fuel line routing for a poulan 2150 chainsaw?

The 2150 has a remote primer, so there will be three pipes, the pipe coming from the fuel tank with the fuel filter on the end is the main fuel tube, this fits to the connection on the carb nearest to the pump cover on the carb ( alluminium cover held with a single screw ) the other connection on the carb has a pipe to the shorter of the two connections on the back of the primer ( suction side ) the longer connection on the back of the primer ( pressure side ) has a pipe back to the fuel tank, so the primer pulls fuel from the tank, into the bulb, and dumps it back to the tank, it does not push fuel into the carb, this way you can depress the bulb as many times as you like without flooding the engine.

I have a Poulan 2150 2.1 chainsaw. I have no manuals. All of the fuel lines are dry-rotted and need to be replaced. How can I do this myself?

An IPL containing fuel system parts with very little detail can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html

“2150 Gas Saw Type #” (the dash number from your serial number). May also be Predator or Woodsman.
The fuel system parts can be found on the "Engine Assembly" and "Handle & External Assembly" illustrations.
Take good notes and a some digital photos with as much undisturbed detail of hoses and routing as possible.
Try your local chainsaw seller/mechanic for fuel hose. Take a short length sample, there may be different size hoses. All need be fuel resistant.

  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.
Take lots of notes and a few digital photographs will help with reassembly. HTH

I need the fuel line routing or diagram for a Poulan Predator 2150 LE. I have parts list but it does not depict the fuel detail I need.

Jimmy there are no Poulan drawings with fuel system detail worth the ink it takes to print them, but that is all there is.

Routing runs from fuel tank to carburetor, (if equipped) through carburetor to primer bulb (once compressed bulb draws fuel as it returns to normal) , bulb (as it is compressed) returns displaced to fuel tank. HTH

This is as good as fuel routing gets!!! If this isn't sufficient Find your nearest Poulan repair facility or try your friendly neighborhood chainsaw seller/mechanic. Resubmitting this question won't get any better answer. HTH
