Question about RCA TH1602 MP3 Player
This is the second replacement. Walmart had me in tears when I wanted a replacement because i didn't keep the container but i charged it. that wasn't good enoughh. this second one is worse than the first. i don't know what to do. why is rca not recalling them?
All I can say is follow these steps to install the latest firmware into it. I think it is a great product because of the miniSD slot and the fact that I can just pop a new battery into it when I am out and about. Only if it works though, of course. . . I was about to return mine, when this fixed it. Try this:
The other day I replaced my battery and my unit would not go any further than the Pearl logo. So I downloaded the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1, and followed all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you start the program:
start the program,
remove the battery,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button when the the term "initializing" replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.
You might want to leave the "format data" box unchecked to see it that works. I couldn't play aac files without formatting, but you may not have to format to fix your problem.
After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again.
