Press the one button until the system is off, then remove the batery for about 5 to 10 secs, replace it back, the system should come one now. it is due to improper shutdown, HP system don't really suppur hibernation. good luck

HP altec lansing Pavillon DV 6700 not powering

I am sorry to say that this is likely to be motherboard damage. The only other possibility is the the Power jack on the laptop itself is loose or shorted.

Either way.. You need a qualified repair.

The safe bet is a new motherboard.

sincerely,

The wireless button should be located on the top left part of your laptop. It will be the 3rd button from the left.

Laptop not booting up and nothing showing up on the screen

What leds you can see blinking on laptop? Can you hear any bootup sounds? Sometimes my laptop hangs on standby or hibernat, then screen is black and some leds may blink. Usually i need to take charger and battery off for 10 seconds and boot up again. If that dont help then there must be some hardware damage.
