Look under your Custom Settings, where there is an option to set the length of time that the monitor will stay on.   Don't forget though that it uses a lot of battery power.   When you want to turn off the monitor prematurely, just press half way down on the shutter to turn it off, and thus save some battery life.
Good luck.

Have you read your manual? It is always wise to first read the entire manual to get a feel for how the camera works and then keep it for reference as you learn.

My nikon camera keep got error and dont have the

You have not provided enough information, what is the error read? If it shows ERR then: The ERR message is not a good thing. Read page 132 of the D80 Manual. Also, try a factory reset found on page 129 of the manual. On the left side of the camera is the terminal cover, inside below the USB connector is the reset switch. If that does not work call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689.

I cant read the instructions they are too small model number 5024

If you mean the Vivitar 5024, you can download a manual from . It's in PDF form, so if you can stand to read it on a computer monitor, you can have your PDF reader magnify the pages.

Same problem as described above

oh yes there is a reset button, Virginia. :) It is on the bottom of the camera. I have a D70s. You will need a small paper clip. It is not advised to use it unless you are in dire straits. There is another reset. You will have to read your manual to show you how. It involves using a combination of buttons on top. Don't know which one. Read the manual. Or go to teh Nikon USA website.

I have a Nikon D80 SLR camera, and have purchased an Opteka 650 x 1300 mm zoom lens (fit on). I have changed the setting on the camera to manual, and it will now take photographs, however the images are...

You can't meter through that lens. If the images are too dark, either slow down the shutter speed or open the aperture. Keep going until the picture looks okay on the monitor. If you know how to use the histogram, that's even better. If you go too far and get images too light, reverse the process (faster shutter speed or smaller aperture).

If you have another light meter, you can use that to get a ballpark exposure to start with. Alternatively, take a reading with your other lens at the longest zoom.

File errors
Download the english manual version pdf file and open with adobe reader go to page 84.
When you upload a file that is not taken by this camera to the removable disk, the [File Error!] message will be displayed on the LCD monitor in the play mode, and nothing is displayed in the THUMBNAIL mode.

Make sure that the memory card is formated in the camera not the memory card reader on the computer. Make sure you save your edited files in jpeg file format. Avi for movies. The manual makes it sound like the camera will not read altered files or files not taken by the camera itself. edited files are not files taken by the camera. Good luck I hope this helps.
