Near the throttle control assy on the engine the cable has 1 clamp on it. It should be very near the end of the cable shielding. Losen the clamp and move the throttle control until the cable EXTENDS out of the shielding and re-tighten the cable clamp. You may have to do the trial and error on the adjustment but usually is should not have to be moved more than 1/4 inch from the original position unless the cable clamp over the shielding was loose to begin with.

Need gas tank for a turfmaster riding lawnmower. 11.5, 30" cut. Model # 309001x08a Serial# t 109029152. Live in st cloud fla

I don't have a gas tank for you but am in need of a little assistance myself. I brought my mower to a service dealer who screwed me. He took the carburetor off, told me the lawnmower was junk and left me with it. I bought a new carb from B&S (Nikki) but don't know how the linkages hook up. B&S service is useless. Are you willing to look at yours and walk me through the three linkages? Jim 508.432.6482

The lawnmower is revving really high, I'm thinking

Sounds like you are going to have to take a look at the linkages. To do this you will need to remove the air filter and then the air filter housing. Probably have to remove the shroud (cover on top of engine). Now you should have a good look at the throttle linkages. Try to moved them to see if they are stuck. You will be pushing against spring pressure so expect some resistance. Just checking to see if there is freedom of operation to tell you if stuck throttle linkage. If stuck you will have to determine if in carb. or not and then repair.

If this is really helpful, please rate.

I have a Yardman 6.5 OHV Intek 21" lawnmower and all of a sudden it started idling really high and I can't find an idle adjuster, is there one and if so where? thanks for any help you can give me

I smacked the front of the mower into my boat trailer, and it shut down and would not stay running.. Idle was too low. Finally found the idle adjust and fixed it right away. The idle adjust is a piece of metal that is bent down, over the edge on the throttle linkage. It hangs over just above and to the right of the gas "bulb"...that thing you have to press before starting the mower. It is 1/8 " wide and about an inch long. comes off the linkage that is connected to the throttle cable assembly. As it hangs over the edge of the assembly , it controls the idle speed. bend it one way or the other to adjust. It is kind of hard to describe. Hope this helps.

My john deere rideing mower idles up and down at

The motor has a governor that controls its speed, and if one of the pivoting parts or linkages is sticking this would happen. Look for the throttle linkage on the engine carburetor (move your throttle up and down, watch what moves). The governor will be a second linkage attached to the throttle arm. Squirt some WD-40 on any rotating parts and make sure a foreign object isn't stuck in there. It could also be the part of the governor that's internal to the engine -- harder to get at, but not expensive to fix.
