Question about Zyxel (91-004-361002) Wireless Router

1 Answer

My Zyxell (Zywall 2WG) router drops out every 30 minutes after having wireless contact with my laptop. To reestablish I need to 1. get the laptop directly connected with the internet cable. 2. then moving the netcable to the zyxell router (wan). This works for another 30 minutes ... and here we go again...?

Logon to your router and chage the default channel(usually 6) to something else. This should correct the problem most times.

If by resetting you mean the wireless connection keeps dropping and reestablishing then you must likely have poor signal strength to the wireless router. The strength of the wireless signal can be greatly diminished by walls and other objects in the way of the wireless router. Best advice if your fairly close (less than 20 ft) from the router would be to invest in a wireless N router, you will get a much better signal.

I lost the password, and i can not access the zywall 10. How can i reset the zywall to the default configuration?

you need to use the reset button on the back of the device: it is quite small, so you need to use a needle or a small sharp object to press it. You can find it under the label "Reset" on the back of your router.
Hope it helped,

Wireless drops off after 30 minutes, comes back with reset, then drops off in 25 minutes, and so on. wired internet ok.

This is a problem with the firmware of your router since the wired part is working fine, to correct one you need to do a firmware upgrade on the router you can get the latest firmware from Dlink web site.........

The singal drops after 30 seconds and then reconnects about a minute or two later only to drop again.

It could be a wireless interference. Try to change the wireless channel of your router. If the same problem exists, you need to update the firmware of the router then hard reset it.

Hi. I have a DI-624 wireless router, using it for one desktop and two laptops. It used to work very well as a wireless router. But recently I shifted its physical location, after which the signal falls out...

Any chance there is another router with the same SSID nearby?

Perhaps when your router is dropping off the workstation is finding a different router with the same SSID.

Laptop says I have no wireless connection

You need to reset your router. It should be a reset button on the back of the router. Get a stick pin and press and hold for 30 seconds. Then after 1 minute. Unplug your cable/dsl modem and router. Plug the cable modem back in first and after 1 minute plug your router back in. Reinstall the software for your router and you should be able to connect wireless with no problem.

Please rate my response. Thanks.

Loses connection constantly

Ok, I;ve been having the same problem as you and I just had it solved. Make sure that it isn't on bellsouth's end and make sure the modem is running correctly. It should most defenately not be the router. Call them for support.
