I use a HP8610 printer with Costco refill ink cartridges. My cartridges are 3/4 full and have stopped printing.

Hi,
If you're getting any fault or warning messages on the display or on the computer it's running with, pay attention to them & try to resolve it that way.?

If you're not getting any messages,
my best guess would be that the printer 'thinks' the ink carts are empty & so it's stopped printing from them.
This is a 'know' problem with 'non-manufacturer' ink-carts.

The first thing you can do is take the carts back to Costco & ask for replacements.
The other thing is to possibly look for a little device which re-sets the chip on each cart. They're not available for every kind of cartridge, but are very cheap on eBay & they might have them in your local ink-cart shop too.?
Best of luck.

Bought compatible cartridges for lexmark S405 all in one. Won't authenticate them. locked out of printing. Any ideas

For the most optimal output experience with your AIO, Lexmark recommends that customers update their firmware. The firmware helps ensure that customers receive the highest yields of ink available from the cartridges, which offers the greatest value and means fewer necessary cartridge replacements.

If you choose to upgrade firmware, note that unauthorized use of third-party 'cloned' cartridges will no longer be possible.

When purchasing ink cartridges, Lexmark customers have two options:

Regular ink cartridges without license terms (100A/100XLA) that you may a) return to Lexmark free of charge (for recycling by Lexmark), b) refill, recycle or remanufacture themselves, or c) provide to third parties for refilling, recycling, or remanufacturing. Any Regular ink cartridge can be refilled by a customer or a third party and will continue to work in their Lexmark printer.

Return Program ink cartridges that provide customers with an up-front discount in exchange for their agreement to use the ink cartridge once and return it only to Lexmark for remanufacturing and recycling.

Replaced black ink cartridge (not lexmark brand) printer will not recognise it even though supposed to be compatible?

I refilled my tri-color cartridge at Costco and my printer wouldn't print the alignment page. I bought a new cart and it worked fine. Then I re-installed the refilled cart to verify the fix, and it still...

a refilled cartridge IN NO WAY can lead to printer failure
the ink is the last thing on printer and has no effect to mechanical failures.
check here how you can refill your cartridge

I refilled my cartridge and now my printer is not working. Apparently a chip is needed but is not available yet!

Must use Samsung Ink,not recycle like cartridge world, because there is a chip inside the board prevent privacy or recycle ink, i am a tech, i know how to shorten the chip so you can buy recycle ink cartridge. but its illegal to do that(but who care). Now my printer work on either Samsung ink or recycle ink.

I have a Lexmark x5470 & I get an error unsupported cartridge

Ink cartriges have chips in them, if the printer does so many prints without getting the "I've had a new Original Cart fitted" it will stop untill, you give it one, regardless if there ink or not

Im afraid it doesn't care that you only need to use the colour cartridge, it is designed to cost you money and make money for lexmark not refillers.

Welcome to our modern world, manufactures make the ink hard to recycle by incorperation of expensive chips that makes refillers, unable to make a easy dollar, because if that want to make cartridges that work they must also fit the expensive chip.

All empty cartridges have a little ink left in them because getting air in ink lines is not a thing we want.

Does the lexmark x2500 need a special type of ink?

If you go into the office supplies store, there's usually a guidebook for each manufacturer of printer, and what cartridges it takes. Otherwise, you can look on the sides of the packages, and there will be a listing of the makes of printers it will work with. If you hadn't thrown it out, an ink cartridge recycling service would take the cartridge and replace it with a refilled one, with a discount in exchange for the empty.

Problem with hp deskjet 640c printer

i have an hp and find that they (color carts) cannot be refilled- the clever b*st*rds!! they stepped the ink reservoirs so, if you don't insert the re-fill needle 'just right', it bleeds into the others and you end up with a 'muddy' print-out! you need to buy a new hp cart, or shop around for a generic cart (cheaper) google your product & cart #. you may find a source for a cheaper cart.
the black carts. can be re-filled!
good luck!
