Last night I checked the battery and it was still good. I disconnected and then reconn ected both terminals and that brought the power back. When I turned the key the power went out again. I repeated the procedure but did not turn the key. Instead, I took off the knee bolster and tried to wiggle the wires under the dash to see if I could find the source since it seems to be related to the ignition. Nothing cut the power so I started it up and it worked fine except for the check engine light which was flashing that says I have a misfire condition. I drove the car 25 miles to work this morning and will be taking it to the dealer for a better inspection.

Hi Russell,
Absolutely no power? No dome light? No head lights? Nothing?
When you step on the brake pedal, no brake lights?
If true, start at the source and pop the hood.
This is going to be a bit of back and forth dialogue. I'll ask some questions and you get me the answers. That way we can get to the root of the problem. To save time, I'll ask multiple questions at a time. Here goes.
Try getting a jump, when the cables are attached does anything light up?
Does it turn over and start?
Does it do anything?
Comment me back with your findings

It may be as simple as reprogramming your system. There is a way to re-synch your keys to the system. Use the instructions at:

That vehicle had a lot of problems with the PCM "Power Control Module" and that may be your problem.

Check for fuel pressure and check for spark during the no start condition. Also check the crank sensor, it is located behind the crank pulley mounted in the engine block on the 4.3 L engine
I hope this helps.
