My power keeps cutting off and my mother board is not fully wired up correctly . The main power switch at the front is connected but no led light or reset button connected

Led and reset wouldnt cause that, have you tried replacing the power supply?

Motherboard mounted in computer case, the Front Panel header is in the bottom/right corner, above the top black SATA connector.
Two rows of contact pins.

The Top row is numbered EVEN.
Starting at the Left side going across to the Right, Top row;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO pin 10.

The Bottom row is numbered ODD.
Starting at the Left side going across to the Right, Bottom row;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED. (Light)
Pin 1 is for the Positive wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

C) Pin 9 is N/C. Not Connected. Probably 5 Volts DC for factory testing.

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED. (Light)
This IS for a -> 2 wire LED. (Light)
Pin 2 is for the Positive wire.
If the PWR LED is dim when the computer is on, switch the wires around.

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.

To the left of the Front Panel header is a 3-pin header.
This is the Alternate Front Panel LED header.
If you have a -> 3-wire LED, it connects here.

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of contact pins on the motherboard, that the main wires from the Front panel go to, is the Front Panel header.

Motherboard installed in computer case, (Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right), the Front Panel header is at the Bottom/Right corner,

Black rectangle of plastic with 17 contact pins. Top row has 9 pins, Bottom row has 8.

Notice that the Bottom row has a White triangle pointing to the first pin.
This triangle points to Number 1 pin.

Top row has 9 pins.
Starting on the LEFT side going across to the Right;
Pins 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18.

Bottom row has 8 pins.
Starting on the LEFT side going across to the Right;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, NO PIN, and 17.

A) Pins 1 and 2 are for the Green Button. This is also the Standby button.
Let's discuss this for a moment............
Myself I wouldn't connect to it.

B) Pins 3 and 4 are for the HarDDrive activity LED.
(Light Emitting Diode, so to call it an LED light is redundant)
Pin 3 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the Harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

C) Pins 6, 8, 10, and 12 are for an internal speaker. Used so the computer can generate BIOS Beep Codes.
Doesn't indicate which pin is for the Positive ( + ) wire, but with most motherboard speaker setups, Pin 6 would be for the Positive ( + ) wire, and Pin 12 for the Negative ( - ) wire.

D) Pins 5, 7, and 9 are for the Power On LED.
Notice there are 3 pins. This is used for a dual color Power On LED light.
Usually a Green/Yellow.
Pin 9 is for the Positive wire.

Two wire Power On LED? Positive wire goes to Pin 7, or Pin 9. I believe both to be a Positive connection.
Pin 5 I believe to be the Negative connection. ( - )

(I suggest connecting the Negative wire to Pin 5. Then connect the Positive wire to Pin 9. Not very bright? Put it over to Pin 7 )

E) Pins 11 and 13 are for the Power On switch.

F) Pins 14 and 16 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used.

G) N/C for Pin 17. No Connection.

H) N/C for Pin 18. No Connection.

The front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area of pins on the motherboard, that the main wires from the Front Panel go to, is the Front Panel header.

On the motherboard the Front Panel header is marked as PANEL1.
Scroll the page down, until you come to Motherboard layout.
Click on the + sign to the left of it.

Shows an illustration of the motherboard.
Bottom/Right corner is PANEL1. The black rectangle that is sitting vertically, in the motherboard photo.

Motherboard installed in computer case, the Front Panel header is two columns of contact pins.
FOUR on the Right side, FIVE on the Left side.

I don't know the actual numbering of the pins, so I'm going to number them myself;

Starting on the Left side at the Top, going down,
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Starting on the Right side at the Top, going down,
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8. There is NO Pin 10.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED (Light)
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.
If the HDD LED is dim when the harddrive is active, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF a Reset switch is used. If not, do not connect to them.

How to find out what wires are what, in that Front Panel harness connector?

Follow the wires from the connector, up to the Front Panel.

Front Panel removed it is easier to see where the wires go.
You can follow the color code of the wires, and see which twisted pair go up to the Power On switch.

You can also see which ones go to the Power On LED.
(Light Emitting Diode, so it is a light)

Reset switch, (IF there is one), same thing.

The only pair of wires that will be left is the HDD LED wires.
HarDDrive activity LED.

The 9-pin plug will have to be CAREFULLY cut apart. Separate the wires, AND their metal terminals. (WATCH your fingers!)

Front panel connection to mother board Power switch pin

1. There are 8 wires from the front panel's casing, excluding USB connectors and front audio cable.

2. Just plug the front panel switch headers to the F_Panel main board connectors. 1 & 2 are positive, if the led do not light change polarity but Im sure it will.

Note:The mainboard provides a front panel connector for electrical connection to the front panel switches and LEDs. JFP1 is compliant with Intel® Front Panel I/O Connectivity Design Guide.

There is a small block of pins usually on the bottom right corner of the mother board to hook up front panel connections, you will have to read the board around it and somewhere it will tell you which wires go where.

First of all these wires don't supply power to HDD. These wires are for indicator LEDs on the front
panel of the cabinet. One wire `power sw' is to switch on the system from the power button on front panel. `power led' wire is of the power led on the front panel. All these wires will be connected to the cluster of pins on one corner of the mother board. If you can see it will be indicated & printed near the cluster of pins on the mbd, that which pair of pins is meant for what connector. Try to correlate the names on connector with the print on the mbd.

Power LED on but no boot up


it could be your power switch, veriy that it isnt the power supply by

1.) un-plug it from the main board
2.) look at the main board connector(one coming of the power supply)
3.) you should see green wire and next to it a black one
4.) using a paper clip bridge the too wires
5.) if it works proceed to net step if not get a new power supply

to check case switch and board switch

1.) plug in power supply to main board
2.) look at the pins where the power button connects to
3.) using a metal object (blade screw driver) bridge the pins

if the board should start up>
then its your power button on the case that is bad, you can try to repair it, chage it or buy a new case,

if it doesnt work.
1.) ensure that jcms(jumper to flash the bios) is set correctly
2.) unjack each drive one at a time to see if any is causing stalling
3.) get a new main board
