Roxio media mgr trying to install & asks for disks i don't have

When it say to put in disk for install to complete i hit cancel, and the scanning/install prep starts all over again.
this prevents downloading anything else because it won't stop no matter how many times i click cancel...
in other aspects my situations is same as the others described.

Download and apply a hotfix from Sonic. The file name of the hotfix is Isum_hotfix.exe. Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove entries that reference Sonic Update Manager.

Product is Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning. We put the cd in the drive, we get lights on the drive, we get hard drive disk activity but no installation program comes up. We tried turning off Norton AV,...

Most probably the CD does not have the autoun function or the autorun is no functioning. If you need to install the software, open the Windows Explorer and click on the drive for the CD and on the Explorer right side plane double click the "setup" installer and the installation should run.

Hope it helps.

My roxio media creator 7 program that came with my burner was having trouble. It said to re-install it.I put the disk in and it says im missing a certificate and it wont install. It wont let me uninstall it...

OK - if you installed IE7 or WMP11 remove them before starting. Uninstall EMC from add/remove programs. Download and run the MS Cleanup utility and remove all traces of Roxio
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
After you install it go to the program folder and click on msicuu.exe. If some files in roxio are still left download, install and run; http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Click on the Registry icon and scan for issues.

Godd luck!

Purchased roxio creator 2010 in store and roxio 6 & 5 on line

Uninstall the software, and try to get a refund.

Then, access http://www.MajorGeeks.com
and download the _free_ "Ashampoo Burning Version 6" software. It's great software for burning both data and audio CDs and DVDs, and it is _free_ to use.

I am using Roxio 7.5 to create a System Back-up. It is asking me to insert a Content CD?

In-pack is a 64-page manual, plus two CDs. One is the installation disc for VideoWave Movie Creator (V1.5.545.0); the other is the contents CD and carries video (AVI), audio (WAV) and still image (JPEG) files for use as templates within StoryBuilder. The wizard-based installation promps for the content CD to be loaded. Roxio recommends using the Full or Typical installation options, which copy the contents CD to hard disk.

Roxio don't recognise my drives

execute this command from an elevated (administrative-level) account command line or Run if you are an administrator: chkdsk /r /x

that will attempt to run the Disk Check utility on the drive you specify and automatically repair any errors it finds... most likely if the drive in question is in use (e.g. if it is C: and your Windows installation is also on C:), so you will be prompted to set it to run on next boot-up, so enter y or Y and hit Enter; when the system is rebooted it will come up in a service mode (blue screen of life) and usually give you a few seconds to cancel the disk check (unless you have an emergency I suggest letting the prompt expire and then the disk check will run and repair disk errors. FYI, in most systems, D: and E: volumes are simply "logical volumes" aka partitions that have no physical presence, so when a symbolic link to either of those volumes and C: is broken, the other logical drive may have intermittent problems. From your description, I surmise that you have two physical drives (C: and D:) but E: is a logical extension of D:. Some of what you describe may be normal due to the nature of the drive in question. You can read this long answer as your chkdsk (note that I did not misspell it) command runs.

After that utility finishes, the system will start up normally; I suggest trying Roxio again and if the errors are still there, re-install the software, as its configuration may have been damaged (usually it's something petty in the Local Settings folder, but troubleshooting can take longer than re-installing).

Problem to retrieve second disk out of three.

This looks like a damaged disk problem to me, possibly caused by removing the disk before it was finished writing contents to the disk; FYI, DVDs take quite a while to finish writing their contents (compared to CDs they seem very slow but their data-handling capacity is far greater).

You may need to re-create your 3-DVD set again. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I would also recommend not giving your personal information out, even though tech-heads are notoriously honest and unlikely to violate your privacy since we are so busy with our many intellectual pursuits. Still you never know who's lurking out there on the 'net.

Roxio dvd disk type doesn't match project type

Check the following parameters

- Type of disk--> it must be a DVD RW disk (Read and write), if the media is only DVD R, you can't burn it
- Your DVD driver--> Check if it accepts DVD RW(-) or DVD RW(+) or both. With this information, check if the media matches the driver capability
- Roxio settings--> In the Main Menu select--> Disc--> Disk information--> confirm that the right driver is selected (drive D or E or the letter your computer uses for the DVD driver)
