Question about Olympus SP-550 UZ Digital Camera

1 Answer

Often doesn't open ok.

Sometimes, or let's say quite often, the camera doesn't open up ok. There is a blurred view and a beeb-beeb sound is heard. When I turn it off and restart, then it is ok. This is really annoying as it keeps happening.

The camera wont turn on in camera mode only in photo view mode. When turning on in camera mode the lens comes out about 5mm and then goes back in. On the screen a blue message flashes up saying zoom error.

To whom it may concern, Slightly blurred red/pinkish LCD screen when camera is switched on. If I look at pic's taken before this happened they look ok on LCD screen. 1 week ago I switched the camera on...

Do the pictures still look this way when they are downloaded to your computer or just when played back on the camera screen? Was the camera exposed to high heat (like being left in a hot car)?

When i'm capturing a view in night without flash, the photo saved in blur mode. Please tell me, how to i capture a view in night without flash to avoid BLUR. My e-mail id is

Exposures in low light require the shutter to be open for a long time. If this is longer than about a thirtieth of a second, you will not be able to hold the camera still enough by hand to avoid blurring the shot.

The solution is to use a tripod or another method of holding the camera very still, such as pressing it against a table or railing while taking the picture. In the film camera days there were many accessories for this purpose, and they still work with digital cameras. Some people used to carry a bean bag to set the camera on for long exposures. It's less bulky than a tripod ands allows some adjustment to camera angle when using a tabletop to hold the camera still.

Pinkish blurred screen when taking pictures. sometimes photos look ok when in view mode. sometimes just blurred screen with lines.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Blurred image

This sounds like CCD sensor problem ( especially if the picture is "noisy" ). Canon and Sony fixes this particular problem free of charge since the CCD device installed in your camera should last + - 15 years if it is properly manufactured. Contact your agent and find out what their policy is.

View finder in samsung VP- W90 very blurred. Focus not the problem.

If the focus is blurred on the view finder, assuming you are talking about the eye piece and not the lcd, then it is a out of focus issue. Even though when you view it it's ok. Some cameras still have a focus knob somewhere to focus the eye piece.
