Are load range D Uniroyal Laredo LT225/75R16 load range D tires satisfactory, if hauling a full load of passengers or should D Uniroyal Laredo LT225/75R16 load range E be used. 2500 model

There are three measurements for tires.
1. Maximum pressure 51 psi
2. Recommended pressure 40 psi
3. Vehicle rated pressure. Depends on the make and model.
The vehicle pressure is dependant on the load you are hauling. There is a sticker on the center post of the drivers door that will list this.

Each tire has its own rating and performance. The tire size does not determine the tire's pressure ratings. There is small lettering on the tire that will tell you its max pressure rating. If you can not find it because the tire may be too old or just too dirty to read then Look up the brand of tire such as Michelin, Uniroyal, Goodyear, and Google the tires specs. the manufacture ratings will be easy to look up.

Hi Debbie, Have the brakes seen to before even moving the vehicle. Could be a broken hose or a leakage from the brake caliper. Whichever the vehicle should not be driven until the problem has been sorted out. Regards John

Is it possible the tire is defective? How many miles are on this Jeep?

Those are not unidirectional tires so they can be mounted front of back, driver or passenger side.

Have you checked to see if a wheel bearing is seizing on you? May cause the wheel to drag. Or may just be bad luck on our part.

the Chevy G-Van is very rough on tires, especialy the inner and outer edges as it is so top heavy and sways som much, the weight is consistantly on the outer edges of the tires. causing the edges to burn off. if this is the type of wear you have. there really is not much you can do...i assume the repair shops have confirmed the alignment angles are in specs...if this is so. i stongly suggest purchasing tires that have a close tread on the out side edges. to be more specific. if you purchase an off road tire, it has large voides between tred lugs allowing for the debris to be evacuated quickly, forcing it to the outer edges of tire and out. if you purchase a highway type tire that has a "closed" tread on outside edges of tire you will expierence better success with keeping tires ono the front end longer that 15,000 miles...i dont know what brands of tires are in england, but i would suggest a Uniroyal HDH (heavy duty highway) or similar tread pattern..this will help you out alot...below is a link to the uniroyal site, view the HDH vs the HDT, the large voids i speak of to avoid for your truck is on the HDT (heavy duty traction)...good luck...let me know how you make out!

I've had two 4WD explorers over the past 12 years. I've always kept the tires near the maximum inflation of 44 PSI - usually between 40-42 PSI. I know Ford recommends less on the door sticker, but my tires always wore too fast on the edges at the recommended pressures. It makes for a harsher ride, but it has been a good trade off for me. The only thing I know about brand of tires is you should use a quality brand of all-terrain design. I've used Uniroyal, Michelin and now Firestone Destination AT with good results. The way explorers cup tires, I don't worry too much about mileage as you're lucky to get 40K before you can't stand them anyway. Good luck. JW
