If it doesn't come to the centre when it's cover is opened, then move the carriage yourself to a convenient position for you to replace the cartridge ok. The printer should be off and just a little pressure should be applied. Please, don't force. If it doesn't move at a little applied presuure contact a nearby technician. Good luck

When I open the top of my Epson TX210 printer, the head does not move, so i can't change the ink cartridge

Recent Epson printers does not move the head when you just open the cover - you need to go to the printer menu and select setup menu and then select replace cartridge. Click ok and the head will move to the changing position.
Hope this helps

My printer said to clear the cartridge jam and to replace the ink cartridge. Can not get the cartridge thing to move inside. How do you remove the jam?

make sure there is nothing blocking the way. maybe up it upside down and shake it firmly. If no luck, check the black thing behind the ink cartridge that's attached to the white strip and press it against the carrier until it snaps back in place. and then reset it and run again. that should fix it

Have an Epson NX200. Need to change ink cartridge but ink carrier will not position so I can open it.

usually you can move it manually with your hands .Turn off first your printer .once it turns off pull the carrier, pull the white tape gently to the center and just replace it ink cartridges there. Make sure its properly plug in .Once your done return the move the cartridge carrier manually from left to right 5x once your done you may now close the cover .(close it first ) And checked if its going to the center once you open the cover .

I have refilled my TN2130 toner catridge, resetted it etc. It is now printing dirty printouts with too much ink on pages

You don't have say the model no. Of your printer. But don't worry I'll try to solve your problem. First check the tonner you have refilled was not bad and damped. Check also the paper you use is not damped or bad quality. Make sure the printer settings or resolution has not been changed. If you have refilled the toner cartridge for several times then the cartridge may need replace. Clear the cartridge carefully by cotton with a light touch. Check the printer settings and page setup. If it doesn't help you to solve your problem then you have to change the cartridge.

How to change ink cartridge? When scanner lid is lifted ink cartridges do not slide over to be removed.

If the printer still thinks the cartridges have some ink in them (ink light blinking, but NOT SOLID RED), it won't move the carridges into place- this only happens when they are completely empty. if you want to change them MANIUALLY you will have to look for "changing ink" in your manual- usually, but not alwyas done by holding down the INK button for 3 seconds, but like I said- check the manual, and if you don';t have it, downlaod from EPson website

How to change the ink cartridge on an Epson D88 printer?

To change a cartridge the old one needs to be registering as empty.

Press the ink button and the carriage unit will move to the pointer which indicates which cartridge is empty. Press the ink button again and it will move to the exchange position.

You only need to press, rather than hold the button down as holding it down will run a cleaning cycle which is best avoided unless required.

If the cartridge is not registering as empty you can try this approach:

Turn the printer on, wait for the printhead to move off the parking pad and then pull the power cord out the back of the printer (or just turn it off at the socket). You should then be able to move the printhead manually to the exchange position and change your cartridges over. Once you're done just plug and turn the printer back on and hopefully you should be good to go.

Hope that helps.
