Frequent problems with the magenta cartridge of my PIXMA MP510.

3 months ago I bought myself a Canon Pixma MP510. A few weeks later it reported an empty magenta cartridge to me (fast flashing ligth on the cartridge). However... the cartridge wasn't empty at all! I replaced the failing cartridge by a new original cartridge. Things went fine until this week. Now it reports an U150 error to me: the magenta cartridge is not recognized anymore (the light on the cartridge is off - and it's not empty). I bought myself yesterday - again - a new magenta cartridge. And it works fine again. But: for how long this time????

I also suggest that you send the old cartridges to the canon guys, they might exchange them for you being that the ink is full and genuine cartridges but the electronics are buggered, check with the third cartridge how long it takes and if it shorts out the electronics on the cartridge, it could be that you landed up with a few that were faulty, i haven't had any of the problems after i changed the ink cartridges with the machines that i repaired

Dirty or faulty contacts in the cartridge chamber is the only logical explanation.
Remove the cart and with a cotton wool bud and a little alcohol or similar[NOT ACTETONE it melts plastic] give a gentle clean.

How do I change the ink on the Cannon MX330? I cant find where the cartridge is

I am writing this to enquire in regards to Canon Pixma MX320. I bought a Canon Pixma MX320 about 3 weeks ago, and I have brought it over to overseas. I am wondering if it is possible to change from the general ink cartridge that this particular printer use, which is PG510 and CL511 to another similar ink cartridge, which is PG810 and CL811. This is because, where I am living right now, doesn't have the particular Canon Pixma MX320, but instead Canon Pixma MX328 and MX338. The Canon Pixma MX328 and MX338 uses the PG810 and CL811. So, is it possible to substitute from PG510 to PG810 and CL511 to CL811 for Canon Pixma MX320? Thank you for your help.

How to refill pixma mx700 magenta ink tank without

The colors are individual. That machine takes the Canon CLI-8. I would suggest reading your manual on what the procedure is for changing the ink cartridges out, it typically varies slightly by machine. There should be an option somewhere one of the menus to change the ink cartridges. When you buy a replacement be sure you buy from someone who isn't trying to scam you. I would recommend Cartridge World, of course, or OEM. Do not use cheap online cartridges, you will only have headache later.

The other week I had the black print head clog up, requiring daily nozzle deep cleaning [a normal 'ocassional' maintenance function]. Thought I needed a new Print head, so anything worth a try.
I loaded up an old black cartridge [I load all my own......always have] with Isopropyl Alcohol and ran deep clean on that cartridge a couple of times, then repeat printed [6 times] a page full of the number 8 in about half inch character size, to get the alcohol through the nozzles. then Deep cleaned again 3 times, to wash it through the print head.

I reloaded the normal ink filled cartridge and ran the '8' page again till I got good black output. It has now been working without problem, daily, for over a week. Clearly if it's a Magenta only problem, the cleaning as described above would be a bit different, as the magenta is one of 4 colour cartridges.
My printer does quite a lot of work, and was bought at least a couple of years ago, being used daily for alpha numeric and photo printing work. This was the first difficulty I experienced with it.
Hope the above might help.Ken

Canon Pixma IP4300 - cartridge recognition preventing any printing happening.

I seem to be having a similar problem with my cannon pixma 4300 as certain others, i have just recently replaced all the inks with " original" cannon inks and all of a sudden it refuses to print anything, it says that one of the inks is not working, ( Yellow) I remove it, replace it again and the light comes on but when the slide retracts the light seems to go off. any ideas would be great, this seems to be a fault i have read a few times.

Cannot recognize ink cartridge

I have about 6 canon printers with a 3in 1 using PG40 and CL41. I have never encountered the problem you have. I have looked into some other sites and noticed a number if CLI-8 cartridges being replaced by Canon. I think there are only 2 probable problem areas, he cartridge or the software you are using. I suggest you call up Canon and complain about this problem. Seems like you got the printer 6 months or so ago. You should able to get to do something like replace the printer or cartridges. I'm assuming that you don't refill or have your cartridges refilled so the contact points should not be messy w/ ink. You can try cleaning the contact points on the cartridges and printer. But I'd call Canon and explain to them the situation and see if they can solve your problem. Solve I'm implying is to replace your cartridges or printer. Let me know if this helps.
