Question about Saeco Royal Professional Espresso Machine

2 Answers

Waret Pucks Hi Guys, I'm hoping you can help me with the problem we are having with our Saeco Royal Professional. The machine is a couple of years old and I have been cleaning it regularly as per instructions. Lately, though, the pucks in the dreg drawer have become extremely watery, so much so that they don't even hold their shape and there is lots of water in the dreg drawer. The local service centre advised us to make the grind coarser but this has had no effect. Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this problem. Thanks, Chris

Thank you guys, This was most helpful and seems to have solved the problem. The dreg drawer is no longer awash!

Hi There are 2 problems that can cause a watery puck. 1. Like EsWorld said, If the grinds is too coarse it leaves room for more water and you get a watery puck. 2. But if your grind is like a grain of salt, the you don't have enough coffee going into the brew unit, and this leaves room for extra water. To fix this, there is a lever on the top center of the door. The lever will increase the dose if pushed towards the back. DON'T push the lever to the full back position. This could cause an over charge, which could cause the brew unit to dump the ground coffee with out making because it could not compress the charge, or it could break the brew drive. 1 click back from the full plus is fine and will give a great shot.

They should have advised you to make it finer, imagine your coffee grind as Rocks and Sand. If it is watery then it is too coarse(rocks). Have them adjust the grinder or replace the burrs, if you adjust to a finer setting and still cannot get a great shot of espresso.

hi there,
the small flakes are bits of lime scale from your boiler system, to fix/ reduce flakes/particles complete a de-scale cycle on your machine using de-scaler. water hardness- set on 1 will change the length of time before it will ask you to de-scale the machine. Note- hardness 1 is the max time length. hope this helps

I have a Saeco Espresso machine that has recently stopped working. The machine is probably 2 years max old. Type SUP016RE, Model: Royal Prof. Has power going to it, however nothing further? Look forward to...

If you open the top cover,1,check the switch on the side is working, 2,check the fuses behind the circuit board is ok,3,under the water boiler there are thermoswitches ...if they are re-settable, push the pins in,and 4,more seriously the circuit board failure which you have to take it to the service center. Hope it helps.

Saeco Royal professional is stuck on rinsing and warming up. Although the screen says this, it is actually doing nothing that is apparent. Thank you

Hi
Couple of things will cause this.
You have a bad board or the sensor on the back of the boiler is bad or not making good contact with the board. Its the double green wires, that go from the sensors unless you have one of the new machines that has the double yellow wires.

I would try cleaning out your coffee grinder first.

Coffee Grounds

Grinder needs to be adjusted or it popped out of its shaft.

Grinding the coffee too fine or the grinder backing up will cause tension between the upper burr and the grind shaft casing.

Once this happens 9 times out of 10 it will relieve pressure by popping itself out of the shafting or worse yet, cracking the shaft itself.

If you open the side of the machine where the brew drive is and you see grinds all over the place, there's a good chance that's what happened.

Needs to be sent out for repair.

Warming up

Machines' heating elements are not heating up. You should have a professional look at it.
