GE Dryer bought 08/08/07 First it stop bewfore cloths were finished, if I hit start button it would finish, now it will not start.
It was working yesterday, but would stop before cloths were done, pust start then it wouild continue. But now it will not come on at all bought 08/08/07

On GE ovens there should be a CLOCK button to press first. Then if the control has number pads 1 to 0 you enter the correct time and press clock or start again to finish. If it has no 1 to 0 pads there should be 2 arrow type buttons with + on one and - on the other. Press clock and then use + to go up or - to go down. Holding either button in will make it change fast. When you get close to correct time hit button slowly to finish. Hit clock button when time is correct.
507 is the thermal limit if open due to lint or other problems the dryer will not run.
Of course it could very well be a broken door switch. I recently worked on a Hotpoint dryer that was eating up clothing. I took some photos. Hotpoint dryer revamp
sounds like you have a bad motor. you can try taping down your door switch or having someone hold it down for you and then hit the start button while giving the drum a kickstart with your hand clockwise. If the unit starts up and gets running then you have bad start windings on your motor. Just replace the dryer is not worth putting a motor in. Hope this helps.
