Laptop Going off by itself

I just bought a brand new laptop and after a month or so it started going off by itself. I meant "going off" because it goes off like when a tv is switched off. It doesn't have a specific time period to happen this and i dont think its overheating too. Because, even if i use it just once a day and when i turn it on after a few minutes it might go off or it might even stay a whole day without goin off. I'm just desperate to find the problem and fix my laptop. pls i also have a similar problem and i dnt knw wht to do. pls can someone help me fix my problem

What brand is this laptop ? A common problem I have seen on several laptops is overheating. The CPU overheats due to poor coolingit starts performing slowly then the power supply shuts off. The poor cooling issues is due most times to dust or debris accumulaitng in the vents on the sides of the laptop, the fans **** cool air into the laptop, the air is supposed to be routed through the heatsink then the hot air is supposed to come out through another vent. if these vents are clogged by dust or debris the cooling is poor causing the sympton you describe.simply inspect the sides of the laptop and underneath of it and look for vents and dust in them, if you see any of this you can purchase a can of compressed air at staples or office depot and blow it off. It can also be a more serious issue where yuor power supply is failing or maybe the battery is causing this too. in any event if this is abrand new laptop it should be under manufacturer's warranty, take it to an authorized representative or dealr tot ake care of it.

HI, my coolermaster laptop cooler, the U2 with 2 optional fans have been acting loud. only one fan has been acting up. it makes loud noises while the other one is silent. like a grating noise kind of. cant...

Sounds like the fan is going out. I would take it back to the store and swap it for a new one. Alternatively, if you decide to keep it you can try to put a drop of 3-in1 oil in the center of the fan to prolong and/or fix the noisy fan.

Looks like you have a faulty battery, since you bought your laptop 4 months ago, I think it is still covered by their warranty. Please try to contact the manufacturer about the possible battery replacement. :)
Some of the things to do/check if the manufacturer requires you to return your laptop to them: 1. Backup all your important files to a different media/storage, like an external hard drive or burn them to blank DVD's
2. You can also tell them that it MIGHT be your charger that's faulty. Either way, they SHOULD check the battery and charger.

When i turn on my laptop the screen just starts flashing.i only bought the laptop 3 months ago

If purchased as new, it should still be under warranty; don't delay though. If it isn't and there is no sign of video when this is happening, the driver circuitry in the display has probably failed. If there is video, then it can be either the fluorescent backlight lamp itself or the inverter for it.

Laptop Going off by itself

It has to be the CPU fan. The system board monitors the temperature and if the fan is not working, the temp goes up and the unit shuts down. It may take seconds to heat up or minutes. It is a safety feature. In any case, do not continue using it like that, because it can damage the system board and/or the processor.
If the unit is new, have them fix or repair it.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Still got my clicking coming from inside my laptop

Usually, the clicking means your hard drive is about to fail. Unfortunately, there is no much you can do about it. Since your PC is 4 months old, you should still be under warranty. Just ask them to replace it.

If they won't, you can get pick a brand new one online at decent prices.

Good luck

I presume you are installing from the CD? Can you select to not boot from CD, and get to a DOS prompt, and then format C: drive? You need to delete the failed installation and start again.
