I am trying to print on paper that is 15 x 30 cm but I cannot set the paper size to custom. It will only let me choose from a list of standard paper, envelope and photo sizes. The document size is set as 15x30cm and when I try to print it produces an error message and says paper mismatch and will not print. Do you know how I can get round this problem? I am trying to print some invitations using designer card stock. The PhotoSmart printer keeps asking me to turn the paper over to print on the reverse side (which would be the back of the invitation.) How can I dumb this machine down so it just prints when I ask it to?
I got around this problem by tricking the printer.
The paper sensor, on my printer model hp4500 seems to only sense the paper at the beggining of the print job.
What I did to trick the printer to print on odd size paper is slide the paper adjuster to 8.5 and put a regular white sheet in. Then put your odd size paper under it. When you print your document set the number of copies to 2 and print. The printer is going to sense that the paper is correct, and start the job. Here is the tricky part... one the first 8.5x11 sheet is almost all the way through quickly slide the paper adjuster over to match the size of your odd width paper. The printer should pick up the odd paper and print the second copy. Fool you printa! You should be able to do batches of odd paper size under the first 8.5X11
I hope this helps.
