HDMi ( no signal, not supported) doesn't work with Dmr-Ez47v

I am trying to use the HDMI port of my LCT2785TA with a Panasonic DMR-EZ47V. The TV shows no signal, not supported, with 480i or 480p in the top left corner. I have tried the DMR with another TV and the HDMI port works fine. Is this TV HDCP compatible? Is the HDMI port compliant with current specs? Where can I go to find out if these two items are compatible. How can resolve this issue? I have tried 2 DMR's, , 2 different HMDI cables. The first cable has gold connectors , 19 pin , latest technology. The second cable had a bandwidth of 5 gig. I could not find a cable labeled ver. 1.1. I have connected the DMR and HDMI cable to another flat panel TV with no problems. I have contacted Akia tech support not getting anywhere. They have stated that the HDMI port would only work with ver, 1.1 or 1.2 cable. I purchased the low bandwidth cable with no success. Akai now says that the HDMI port will accept the signal because it is coming from an HDCP device. Help Help Help ! Thanks!
