thanks. I will check the diagram with my set up.

My GPS & antenna were working perfectly up to when I installed the software update for the GC-2000?...half way through the update installing the GPS hung ?..when I rebooted the GPS it now no longer recognises the antenna is attached? Seems to me like its a 'reading' problem.

The LGC-2000 should communicate with your Globalmap 3300c unit either directly (using the supplied extension cable) or through a NMEA 2000 network. Check the following connecting steps. If this does not work, your antenna may be defective.

Connecting Directly to the Unit works as follows:
after the module is installed, attach it to the end of the Y-adapter extension cable as shown in the following diagram. To connect it to the unit, insert the extension cable's splitter plug into the Network socket on the back of the unit and your system is ready to use.

I have Globalmap 3300c with - 0b113cc.gif

The extension cable’s shorter branch will have a 60-ohm terminator attached to it. Do not remove this terminator. When you're not connecting to a NMEA 2000 buss, you must leave the terminator connected to this socket for your antenna/receiver to function correctly.

Connecting to a NMEA 2000 Network works as follows:

The LGC-2000 can be connected to a NMEA 2000 buss, providing GPS information to any Lowrance GPS units attached to the buss. Contact LEI Extras for a NMEA 2000 buss adapter cable if you would like to do this. Simply attach the LGC-2000's connector to one end of the adapter cable and attach the other to an available port on the NMEA 2000 buss, as shown in the following image. (You
will have to use a similar adapter cable to connect your Lowrance unit)

Lcx-15ct (gps module not responding)

Before you give up on the LGC-12S you have now though, try plugging the LGC-12S right into the LCX-15CT without an extension cable. If the module not responding goes away...you just need a new extension (GPSX-25G p/n 99-46).

The power cable has a set of yellow, blue, orange, and bare data wires. If these wires short together, you can get the module not responding error.

If all that doesn't help...the LGC-12S is bad.

The LGC-12W p/n 112-06 will work with the LCX-15CT. You probably get this at many marine electronics dealers or go to lei-extras.com and buy it straight from Lowrance. They cost $229 so you might want to shop around putting that money into a whole new system altogether.
Make sure you have the latest software updates if you get the newer LGC-12W. These can be downloaded at http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/

Let me know if you need more help.

Lowrance globalmap 2400 on/off button stuck, unit tries to turn on then screen is blank, tried wiggling back and forth no luck, should i send it in for repair and where to...live in carroll county, md....

You can try a hard reset:

1. Turn unit off
2. Press and hold ZIN, ZOUT, and PWR until you get the "WARNING, DO NOT RELY..." message.

If that doesn't work, try installing the latest updates from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/

If it still doesn't work, and you can't get through to Lowrance by phone, try emailing them by going to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Product-Support/Contact/

It probably won't be worth repairing the unit. You will be better off putting that money into a current unit which will be much better than the 2400 and probably less expensive than the 2400 was when it was new.

Power to Lowrance GPS

Hi,

Yes you have to hook up the red wires together to the + and both black ones to the negative, otherwise the antenna won't be supply in current , and don't forget to insert behind the red wire a fuse and a switch to avoid to discharge your battery .
