Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I think i blew my drivers side front door speaker. when i turn the balance to the left only the back door speaker works. every once in a while you can detect a loud crackling of "noise" from the left front door. i would like to replace both front door speaker. however i'm not sure how to remove the door panel. or does the speaker grill just pop out? if you can offer any info it would be greatly appreciated. thanks joe s.

What would cause the driver side front door speaker and the passenger side rear deck speakers not to work. When if fade the sound all the way to the front with no sound in rear and with the balance turned...

Check the speakers if they work. Connect the speaker terminals using a short wire to a 1.5 volt battery (AA or any dry cell batter) and listen if there's a thumping sound when the wires are connected to the battery terminals. If there's no sound, your speakers are busted. If there's a sound, check if the wires are okay. Use the same method with the battery with the wires from the back of your stereo. Make a small cut on the wire and attach the short wires you used earlier.

pull the rubber boot back off the wiring harness in the crease of the drivers door and check for broken wires there. common problem due to the number of times these wires flex to allow the door to open and close

Door chimes on my 2007 impala are low in sound.Any hints? thank you

Ok left side door speaker is the door chime speaker, I would check the left side door speaker to make sure it's not blown out. This can be done by using your fade & balance button on the radio and going to front speaker and left side only and to see if the speaker is blown. if so replaced it

No sound out of left side speakers, front and back.

easiest way to see if the left outputs have gone is to swap the right and left speakers over. if the left works out of the right channels you know if the set has had it.hope this helps
