How to fix windows explorer error

Okay, try to install a free cleaning software called "Ccleaner". Use it to clean up your computer. You may have too many temporary files.

Also, try to defragment your hard drive. This may help.

Internet Explorer cannot open? how to fix

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
Internet Explorer reports this problem, just because DLL files is out of date or get missing. You can update IE to latest version or download DLL file which is missing or corrupt from Microsoft.com.

IE freezes
There is a popup window trying to open, it seems load for ever. Then the browser freeze for about a minute. You have to close it but for no other choices. Run an antivirus, you will find tons of Spyware. They tend to modify your registry and damage Internet Explorer. Go to Safe Mode, clean them with your anti-virus.

Internet Explorer cannot open.
If you click IE icon, it never open but gives you an hour glass for a few seconds. You should check the compatibility. This problem occurs when you download IE7, IE8 for your Vista or Win7. Uninstall the current version from Control Panel and restart your computer. To solve this problem, you can update Windows. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Update.

Spooling subsystem error. I can print some things but some things get stuck and I cannot even delete them.

Click "start" and go to "Run"

Type "services.msc" at the prompt which will open the Services
window.

Scroll down the alphabetical list in the right window pane until you come
to the entry with the name "Print Spooler"

Right-click this entry, then select "stop". This will stop the computer
running the process that holds your print queues.

Leaving that window open for now, click again on "Start", and then click
"My Computer" to open a Windows Explorer window.

We've stopped the queue service, now we just have to clear the jam that is already there. To do this we navigate to the print spool folder which is hiding within the Windows folders. Usually Windows is installed on C: drive, but you should be able to tell when the Explorer window opens which drive it is on.

The usual path to the spool folder is C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS, but yours may be slightly different. Your windows drive may have another name for instance, but this would be uncommon. So click on your Windows drive (usually C), then double-click on the Windows folder, and then find the System32 folder and double-click on that. Windows may warn you that you are about to view system files, but click "View files anyway" message and search out the "spool folder". Within the Spool folder is your Printers folder, and you should open that.

Delete every file within this folder to empty the jammed print queue (pressing the "ctrl" and "a" keys will select all files and then you can just hit "delete").

Close the explorer window now that we have emptied the cleared spool files and return to your Services window. We must re-start the Printer spooler service, and do so by right-clicking the Print Spooler entry and selecting "Start" from the list. Close the services window and try printing again.

I am having issues with my media player 11

This errors generally means that the file is being used by another application. If you are reading from a usb key or a mp3 player or another application eg. winamp is using the file or explorer has it open then you may encounter this issue.

The best thing to do is is close every other application except for media center, inlcuding exploer eetc etc...also press control alt del to get the task bar up and have a look at what application is running in the back ground and turn the ones you know off as well then run it again. It may help you identify your problem.

good luck

Virus infecting microsoft programs

Its the W32/Rungbu-A virus, it infects Microsoft Word DOC files by copying itself to the same filename but with an .SCR extension, appending the DOC file to the SCR copy, and then hiding the original DOC file.

The W32/Rungbu-A then sets the computer not to show hidden files (in order to hide the DOC file), to give SCR files a Word icon (so the SCR file looks like a Word file), and to hide file extensions (so the SCR file just displays the filename, not the SCR extension). When the SCR file is run, the Word document is displayed as normal.

To recover your .DOC files just follow these steps:

You have to delete all files detected as W32/Rungbu-A.

Set the following registry entries in order to show extensions and hidden files:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
HideFileExt
0

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\HideFileExt
UncheckedValue
0

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
ShowSuperHidden
1

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden
UncheckedValue
1

You must change the attributes of the original .DOC files to stop them being hidden.

My answer to your second question, is in November of 2007 the .SCR file extension started to be used to transmit a Trojan. As a script or a screen saver this file can execute other files which carry the Trojan. The SCR file may be embedded within a ZIP file which could also contain a file with a double extension. Many Windows screen savers come with a .SCR extension by default. Usually these will be found in the Windows main directory. Use caution if you receive a screen saver file via E-mail. These files can contain executable code and can be worms or viruses. Note: This file type can become infected and should be carefully scanned if someone sends you a file with this extension.
