Cell phone batteries have what is called a "memory" over time if they are charged without being fully drained they can start to not hold a charge. Unfortunetly the only fix for an issue like yours is to purchase a new battery. Your local retailer / service provider should have batteries in stock or they can order one for you.
It is recommended to allow the batteries to drain completely before charging, then allow at least 8 hours or more to fully charge. Most cell phone will show a full charge after a few hours, but this is more a fault with the software that check the batteries charge, then an actual indication of the battery being fully charged.
there may be two reason for the following cause- 1.your battery may be drained up 2.or their may be any virus. in cause of battery you have to buy new one but in cause of virus you have to format the phone by following method. To format the (restore factory settings) phone here is a way . 1. Make sure you phone is fully charged. (At minimum 3/4 of bettery should be left) 2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible). 3. Switch-off your n 72phone. 4. Press and hold these three keys together -Green dial key,-Star key (*)-Three key (3) then press the power on/off to swtich on the n72phone. Do not let go the three keys until you see the formatting screen displayed 5. After a few minutes, the format will be complete. Your n72 will now be at its original factory settings (It will reach the same state as that in when you purchased it). All inbuilt applications provided by nokia will not be deleted). i recomend you to format first

The battery may not be charged to full capacity. Does the battery show full charge when you charge it for 12 hours? The adapter may be faulty. Check the battery indicator on the phone when it is being charged.
Knowing your phone's behavior, Its not usual that the battery if fully charged, will drain within the day, especially that you said even if it is not being used. I would highly advice that you avail the warranty of this phone since you have just purchased that unit. Do not rely on Nokia's customer service online. Go to the store where you made the purchase and avail the warranty. They should change the battery pack.
I'm not certain what your question is you made a statement more or less.
I do know that alot of cell phones will show that they are fully
charged after minutes of charging, but then very quickly go back down
to almost dead within an hour. This is because the phone is not
actually fully charged. Most batterys need at least an hour minimum to
be fully charged after its drained completely.
Post back if you need any further assistance. Thank you for choosing Fixya!
make sure you formatted it to fat32,then put back in the phone(without the music yet)back up phone to the mmc card.. when you have done that find the music folder on the mmc card and put your songs in there.
Hi, The ideal battery time which is mentioned in the booklet is for those condition when you use in normal condition like no screen saver, no memory card attached, no vibration, and many other features. But if you are using so and on the other hand many kind of software's are running behind. Then you can not get ideal battery timings. If your set is giving 12 to 24 hours in these circumstances then its working in good condition and if battery time is less then 6 to 8 hours then you have to change it with a new one battery. But the thing is that, your cell phone is ok and you need not to worry about it. Hope this will help you to understand about your phone. Thanks.
