You should carefully mark the current location of the adjustments so you can go back to them if needed. When turning the adustments yiu only need to turn VERY SLIGHTLY.{ one degree at a time } Turning to the right is increasing the Voltage and to the left is decreasing it.Oh you will see two Controls, one for the DVD and THE OTHER FOR THE CD.This is what you been waiting for : DVD should Read { 650/ 1000 ohms}
CD ={ 950/1200 ohms}....the DVD control will be on the left and CD on the right, facing you.or upside down.

Hi,

if you have this problem with all disks.
Then i,d suggest a laser-head cleaning disk.
Also ensure that the disks are scratch-free, especially on the centre and outer edges ( Underside )
If these options fail, you have a weak or faulty laser-unit.

Here is the procedure to reset the parental lock code. It's important to note that this RESETS the parental lock. This is not a master password or anything to that extent.

Bring up a screen where the unit asks you to enter in the parental code. You can either insert a restricted disc, or enter the DVD setup menu and go to "parental control" under custom setup.

When the screen asks for the code, press the SELECT button, then enter in the code "7444".

The level adjustment under Parental Control dictates the strictness of the player. The lower the value, the more strict it will be. Either increase the value to lower the restriction, or disable the lock entirely by setting it to "off".

Once you have made your adjustments, be sure that the DVD tray is empty, and press the RESET button on the front of the Playstation 2. It is imperative the tray is clear of any DVD or game for the unit to save your settings.

I know, this is very annoying. Mine is SCPH-79001.
Just put in the game like you would any game (that would read) and you should hear a few ticks. Turn the ps2 horizontly with the front facing you. And whenever you hear a tick, just tap it against you knee, then you should hear it spinning.

My ps2 wouldn't read GH world tour or metallica, but know it works. Hope I helped
