Question about HP Computers & Internet
I have an HP combined DVD-RW/CD-ROM (came with the system - an HP DC7900 cmt) and it appears not to be reading disks. If I put a disk into the unit, the green light on the front comes on and you hear some noise but nothing comes up on the screen and after a while the noise stops and the light goes off.
In File Explorer, it shows Drive E as a DVD-RAM disk but, even if there is a disk in the machine, it does not show any content.
I have checked the driver and even deleted it via Device Manager so that it is automatically restored on restart. The device manager reports it as working normally. However, when looking at System Information, it shows no details in respect of the unit.
I have also checked the cabling and this appears to be plugged in correctly.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be?
