What is the indication of failure of Netgear Wireless USB adapter WG111 v3? All of a sudden it has stopped working and the light is flickering and the wireless connection icon in system tray is in red color

no connectivity. usb does not register whe plugged into computer. usb power light does not come on to indicate it is getting power or connecting.

Hi,

The symptoms does not indicate failure of the adapter. Download the latest adapter drivers for the adapter and install it.

NetGear Wireless Router and NewGear WG111 Adapter

I imagine you bought the WG111 Kit. It could but throught the Router and/or the adapter. Uninstall all netgear software and drivers. Unplug the adapter. Reboot machine. Plug the adapter in and install the software drives. Basically your starting over. This will take the quess work out of trying to repair what was lost. I have my netgear wg111 adapter but i lost the cd to re install on my computer

You can download the software for this device from the Netgear web site.
You'll need to be able to figure out whether your adapter is V1, V2, V3, etc. as required from that page.

Netgear WG111 USB adaptor does not work

-- check the device manager of your computer
-- for win xp - go to right click on my computer - manage - computer management - device manager - on the right hand side that the netgear adapter is listed under network adapters or other devices

-- check the status that its working properly
-- then upgrade the latest drivers ...
