The folder on my vista ultimate is only 0.9GB theres extra not needed content in there on your system, use windirstat
http://windirstat.info/

to see what the biggest files there are and delete them or you can just move them to your recycle bin, then restart the computer and make sure that everythign works properly before emptying the recycle bin, but those are not important must have files so you don't have to worry about them most of the time harmless.

My Acer aspire ES 11 only has 2 gb of space left out of 32 gb. I have only had the computer since March and have no picture, music, films or documents downloaded. What can i do.

While it is possible something has been downloading and filling your hard drive without your knowledge there equally could be something wrong with the computer and/or hard drive.

It isn't unusual for a couple of months of surfing the interweb to generate a couple of Gb of semi-hidden junk but it would seem you have something like 25 - 28 Gb of stuff you know nothing about.

I suggest you ensure your firewall is switched on and your virus protection is active and up to date - I use the Zone Alarm free version of both and have no complaints. I suggest you download a cleaning programme to help with the necessary computer housework - I use the basic Ccleaner free edition and again have no complaints. I also use Spybot search and destroy free edition for a little extra protection.

Ccleaner will provide a list of installed programmes that will be a little more comprehensive than the Windows utility and I suggest you browse the list and discover what programmes are installed and get rid of any you don't know about and then use Ccleaner or similar to clean out the junk and then follow that with a full system scan with both the anti-virus and Spybot.

If no virus is found and the cleanup hasn't freed a great deal of disc space, I suggest you contact the retailer for advice as the machine should still be under warranty.

Good luck!

Error message 1324. The path My Pictures contains an invalid character. Version 2.5.2.36 Can I remove? Can I update so my Quickbooks program can update? Need help please!

There are 3 possible reasons why you are getting this error message:

1. An invalid character in QuickBooks installation path.
2. An incorrect path setting in the Windows registry.
3.Insufficient hard drive space available to install the QuickBooks program.

To fix this problem, please do the following:
  1. Restart your computer, and reinstall QuickBooks.
  2. Confirm that at least 2.5 GB of disk space is available for installing QuickBooks (Quickbooks 2010 requires 1.5GB of disk space):
    1. Double-click the Computer (for Windows 7 or Vista) or My Computer (for Windows XP) icon on your Windows desktop.
    2. Note the amount of free space shown in the window next to the drive letter where QuickBooks is being installed:
      • If the amount of free space is less than 1 GB, free up disk space before installing QuickBooks or install QuickBooks on a different drive.
      • If the amount of free space is greater than 1 GB, proceed with step 2.
  3. Remove invalid characters from the QuickBooks installation path:
    1. Right-click the Windows Start button and select Explore.
    2. Navigate to the path shown in the error:
      • If there are non-alphanumeric characters in the name of any folder in the installation path, right-click the folder and select Rename to remove them, and then reinstall QuickBooks.
      • If there are only alphanumeric characters in the installation path, proceed with step 3.
  4. Create a new user in Windows to rewrite any Windows registry settings that may be causing the error and log in as that user to install QuickBooks.
Note: You must be logged in as a Windows administrator or as a member of the Administrator group to add a new user.

Can windows 7 run GTA IV.

Hi,
Running GTA 4 on windows 7 should not be a problem. You just have to run the installer using compatibility mode. Right click on the "setup.exe" then choose Properties. Go to Compatibility tab and tick "run this program in compatibility mode for", choose windows xp sp 3. That should allow you to install GTA 4 on windows 7. Bear in mind that you have to install GfW Live and the C++ 2005 files seperately which can be found in the disk as well. More importantly, make sure that your computer meets the system requirements for the game.
Here it is: System Requirements
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900
Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3 Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista) 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870
After installing the game and you're not able to run it, Try running the main executable file of the game in compatibility mode as well.

Hope this helps.

It may be due to the file system.  If formated as FAT32 files larger than 4gb may not transfer.  Try reformatting as NTFS to fix the problem.

Software Installation of Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 terminates with an error "Insufficient free space"

I purchaased MS Lifecam from Walmart at a bargain price of $50.00 yesterday. I quickly installed the s/w on my windows 2003 XP under 5 mins. The camera worked for exactly 20 mins. I opted out from installing the Live Messanger ( don't need it). However the s/w crashed within 20 mins, complaining of a fatal error, which it could not Debug, but insisted on sending off the report to MS..which I declined. After trying to reload the s/w on the same computer for 3 more times, which involved remove and re-install..I finally gave up on the 2003 XP. I then tried to load the s/w on my windows 7 laptop..got the same error message. After messing with it for at least 5 hours, and ruining half my day, I returned the product back to walmart and got my money back. What a scam!! The MS Support site tells you to reinstall windows 7 and then try to reload the d- -n!! s/w again. What kind of Freaking solution is that??!! BTW I have plenty of space on laptop, 80 gigs..so space was not an issue.
