Water leaking out of bottom of door

I have Ld-12AW2 model. water is leaking out of bottom of door during wash cycle. Would you know if the seals are part of the door assembly or bottom frame of machine, there is residue of deteriated rubber of some sort on inside bottom of door but not sure where it came from.

I have the same problem with my LG dishwasher. However, it is intermittent. I thought at first it was the way I was loading it; but that didn't solve it. I thought maybe it was a backup in the garbage disposal, but running the garbage disposal prior to starting the dishwasher didn't help. I thought maybe it was bread dough or portions of paper labels from jars, but carefully watching for that hasn't preventing the water from just pouring out the bottom about every 3 or 4 times I run the dishwasher.

I am in Canada, Toronto, ALL LG Dishwashers are JUNK and I am being nice about it. I called LG Canada technical support..technician has been out four times now and at the end of the day there is still water leaking on my new hardwood floor. I am a technical person and I reviewed the design with the local technician and ALL LG Dishwashers door designs are wrong...this current LG design from 2000-2008 (current) allows for water to leak on the floor via the door. LG USA/CANADA are aware of this issue but...they said ...IT IS WHAT IT IS... They sold over 100,000 of these LG Dish washers and soon or later ALL of them will be at the local Toronto/Buffalo dump trash. I will never make this mistake again. DO NOT PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS IN USA/CANADA. There technical design's are not worth the purchase. At best you might get two years. For approximatly $800 to $2000 it is not worth the money. If you do purchase LG make sure to purchase a 2-5 year extended warranty and make sure it covers your hard wood floors too. They will be done after water gets in.

We to have the same problem, Our hardwood floors are warped for three feet in front of the dishwasher and the length of the floor boards (8-10 feet) to top it off the wood floor went in before we put our cabinets in. this means some of them will have to come out to repair the floor.

What a shame, the dishwasher started out so great. and now...I don't even know where to go. Our last dishwasher a top of the line Kenmore Elite lasted only a year past our 5 year extended plan and that one broke by catching fire and setting our smoke alarms off at night just before bed.

Yikes. We used to use the delay feature all the time.

    Sincerely, Greg

There is a rubber seal that runs along the bottom of the door. If you carefully run your hand along there just to see if it is all even. Sometimes they get out of place and you can push it back and then closing the door it realigns itself and all is good. If the seal is damaged, you have to replace the door liner as the seal is attached.

If you've checked everything, you will need to replace the impeller possibly.

My LG dishwasher - model LD-12AW2 has 'E1' alert & won't work

This sounds like a anti flood activation due to water leak / spill detection. This device (polystireen float and micro switch) at the base of the washer detects any water leak and stops the washing cycle once water leak activates the switch via the float. Check if any water at the base of washer is cuasing the float to activate the switch. Rectify any leak / spill (normally a pipe / clamp) and this should solve the problem.

Water leaking bottom front door

Check out the front seal carefully for a replacement. Due to the flexibility of the seal, it is not to easy to spot a tear mark, Under pressure of an operation load, a small tear will allow water leaking through, so there is a leak. It is very common that a hard sharp object left inside clothing and during washing cycle, it makes its way to the seal and cause a damage. Hope this can help.

Front door leaking during washing cycle

There are only two ways that water can leak out this way. it can be either the door seal or the door lock mech has become misaligned, causing a slight gap that is letting the water escape through.

I recommend inspecting the door lock mech for its integrity. make sure it is aligned correctly to specs. replace this mechanism if found to be faulty or misaligned. i would also inspect the seal for tiny ruptures as well. the slightest rupture or hole can allow small amounts of water to excape.

Inspect these areas thouroughly.

Kenmore HE2 Washing Machine Leaking

Have you looked behind the bellow under the folds to make sure there's no rips or tears? The bellow could appear okay on the outside, but still could have a tear somewhere out of plain view. I had this happen to me before.

The inner seal from the bellow to the tub could also be loose now. If you said a garment got stuck and the washer continued through the cycle, this could have loosen the seal where it attaches to the wash tub. You would need to tighten the band clamp around the facing of the tub if this is the case.

A good way in determining where the leak may be coming from is to remove the lower panel under the door. Start a wash cycle and watch to see where the water is coming out.

Now...if the tub seal is loose it may require some disassembly to get to. If you're going to go the route of disassembling the washer front, and have never replaced the bellow before, it probably wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway. My rationale: It's better to disassemble the washer once, rather than possibly having to do it all over again in the near future.

You can get a replacement bellow at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Door and Latch Parts" section for item number 1 (part #8540952). It only costs about $32.

If you need instructions on how to replace the bellow, just go to my profile and look under my "Tips and Tricks". There is a write I posted there giving step-by-step instructions. If you cannot find it, or have any further questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps answer some of your questions.

LG LD12AW2 leaking

The fill switch may be contaminated with soap or debris that makes it heavier and makes it float lower in the water which means more water is required to trip it. Try moving it manually and see if it is hard to move at the top of its travel.

Leak from maytag top load coin machine during spin drain cycle only

Possible that you would have a tub seal leak if it is only noticable during spin cycle. Possible that it "drips" slightly while in agitation, but not enough to notice it. While in spin mode you have a lot more parts moving as well as a lot more water pressure on the seal itself. Pump could also be leaking, but highly doubtful since it would leak a constant amount at all times. Good Luck!!! Jim

Water Leak at vent area in door...

On this model the vent is open and shut by a wax motor. The vent should be closed tight during the entire wash cycle and the first 6 minutes of the drying cycle. Check the operation, make sure there is not a bunch of gunk restricting it. If you are handy with a meter check the resistance of the motor. It should read approx. 2100ohms. Another reason for leaking at the base is oversudzing. Also check the upper spray arm for cracks or splits shooting water into the vent area. Catriver...post back.
