Question about Vtech Cordless Phone Battery for 2429, 2498, 9110, 9119, 9152, 1712, 20-2438, 2101, 2121, 2151
On my vtech phone on the headset display it shows parallel set on, but both phones are not in use. We have had some storms this morning! Is there anything I can do to correct this problem? Thanks for any help... Jenna Moore it says that parallel set on but there isnt any phone in use and there hasnt been any storms

SOURCE: Not Registered Problem
I had the same problem and I JUST fixed it! First, unplug the power to the main base (answering machine) for 20 seconds. Plus it back in. Put the phone that says "not registered" in the main answering machine. It will say "press the find handset for 4 seconds". Do that. It will run thru a series of stuff and will find the handset. Step 1: Press and hold FIND HANDSET on the main telephone base for 10 seconds.
Step 2: When the IN USE light starts to flash, release the FIND HANDSET button.
Step 3: Press and release FIND HANDSET again. The IN USE light will turn off and in a few seconds, all handsets will be de-registered.
Step 4: All handsets will show NOT REGISTERED.
To register a handset (register 1 handset at a time):
Step 1: Place the handset in the base unit or a charger that is connected to a power outlet. If PRESS FIND HNDST 4 SEC ON BASE does not appear on the screen after a few seconds, lift up handset and place in base or charger again.
Step 2: On the telephone base, press and hold FIND HANDSET for four seconds. Release FIND HANDSET once the IN USE light comes on.
After a while the handset will emit a series of tones, the newly registered handset will be assigned the lowest extension number not previously assigned to another system handset (1-4) when successfully registered. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if the handset does not successfully register to the telephone base within two minutes.

I believe you can navigate through the menu and when you get to the ringer part push up on the navigation arrow. That should work. Thanks for using Fixya.Com.........Enjoy your evening!

disassemble the handset (if you can figure out how to get it open). Flip the LCD screen over so that you can get to the end of the wire ribbon. You want the end that is connected to the phone, not the LCD screen. Carefully use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the cable being careful not to melt it. Your goal is to melt the glue that connects the tiny wires to the electrodes. When glue is melted use a pencil eraser to press the wires so that they make contact again. Let it cool and try it out. It should work well after that. Put your phone back together.

This worked for the 7100, hopefully it works for other models:
When the handset says "not registered", it should still have a "menu" option. Select that, then the only choice is "register", select Ok. Now it says "searching for base", press and *hold down* the "locate handset" button on the base until the handset beeps and wakes up. Docs say this could take up to 30 seconds (it was about 17 for mine).
