Did you store these cd's in a row?

Wait a few hours, over night is good.

When you press store it doesn't burn them direct, it store in temp location. Temp location can only hold so many cds. Wait for it to transfer and it will be fine to go again.
If you turn off by remote it will be quicker because its only working on tranfer.

How do I store music in my Bose system

You insert the CD into the console and pushe the "store" button on the face of the system. You will then see the message accessing gracenotes and the % complete. Once this % has reached 100% the music is stored in the system. Hope this helps

FAILED 802 CALL BOSSE

I have the same problem since the Earthquake in Christchurch NZ.. Called Bose support centre and it seems the hard drive has failed and will need replacing, so all stored music etc lost. Cost to fix is roughly the same as getting a new media centre (DVD/CD) component. We are getting a new one through our insurance, apparently Bose Lifestyle's do not like being shaken around a lot or dropped.
Normally accompanied by a screetching sort of sound when you try to access stored music or turn the unit off.

hi ,
the main problem you have is that the head unit does not recognise the sub .
unplug everthing and let it unplug for minimum 10 mns .
turn the sub on first
than turn the module on
this should get rid of your problem

I have a BOSE Lifestyle 48 without sound

Not sure if this is the same problem, but I lost audio from the Stored, TV, Radio and my external speakers, but still had audio for the CD/DVD. I contacted Bose (Australia) support and they talked me through a solution that worked for me.
Remove the power cord from the Media centre, then while holding down the 'All Off' and 'Vol down' buttons on the Media Centre, reconnect the power (and continue to hold the buttons down). After 10 secs, release the buttons and turn the Media centre on. Everything worked fine for me after doing this.
Full marks to Bose for the phone support. I hope this helps someone else.

Bose lifestyle fault code 802 hi there- i have a bose lifestyle 48 and on display it reads format unsupported when i try to listen to cd's gut not on dvd's - in addition i am unable to store music into the...

Unfortunately, an 802 error is bad. That means hard drive (HDD) failure. This can happen to any hard disc drive, and there's no way to predict it and no way to fix it from home.
If you even try to troubleshoot it (reset etc), you could loose more data (music you've already stored to the system). If you try to access 'stored' music- the error will continue. Also, every time you turn the system off, it checks your HDD, and will probably cause the 802 or 801 errors to display again.
The "Format Unsupported" message may be related, but usually temporary. The 802 (and also 801) errors mean irreversible HDD damage so it doesn't matter.
Call Bose tech support immediately.. They can repair it for $165 and give a new 1 year warranty. And if it's already under warranty they will repair for free. In either case they will replace your HDD with a new one, and transfer any salvaged music files from your existing drive to the new drive.

Storing disk problem

Are you trying to store a few cds one after another? approx 7.
When you store the cd's, the Bose systems temp stores on unit then transfers to perm location.
Waits few hours then try agian, overnight would be good.

To prosess faster turn system off- normally a store gracenote message comes b4 it.
turn unit off to make transfer a bit faster because it only doing one thing.

Cd name can be labeled once on there not sure about songs but i think you can.
Is this burnt Cds, if so when you r burning them, go into options and select music and data, something like that, If ya burning from orginal cd. Easier then typing with remote.
hope this helps:)

Bose Lifestyle sound system shows "Failed 801"

your hard drive is about to fail or has failed.
If you can still play music from stored area and If you want to keep your songs thats stored on system, turn off at power point and take to bose auth repairer, they should be able to transfer songs across to new hard drive.
I have same problem, this is a common problem with bose.... not good for how much they are. Hard drive is left of cd tray, on its side.
hope this helps :)

Bose Lifestyle CD not eject

There are some repair instructions available at www.AnyoneCanFixIt.com in the electronics section that will show you how to release the CD magazine and fix the problem where the unit will not play the CDs (you will hear a buzzing, buzzing, buzzing, and nothing will load or play).

Bose - Custom EQ Error: 10

Hi, I have just had the same problem and the advice from BOSE was to turn everything off and disconnect the sub from the main unit, wait 10 mins and turn everything back on, making sure to turn the sub on first.

As it happens i then noticed I had connected the sub via the BOSE link speakers plug to the main unit rather than the correct "MAIN" socket. - so if you are reading this you know I am a fool! But the sound now works.

Basically BOSE confirmed the reason for error 10 is that the main unit is not detecting the sub and speakers.

Anyway, I hope my foolish mistake, helps save time and blushes for anyone reading this link.

Storing music in BOSE 38 system

The Bose uMusic system is a very powerful music management tool. The uMusic storage process involves pulling information from your CD (approximately 3-5 minutes per CD) then storing this information into a buffer area for processing. The buffer area will hold approximately 10 CDs worth of data. After the buffer is full, it must stop taking new data and process the data already in the buffer. The processing time is about 30 minutes per CD.
This means 5 - 6 hous of processing per 10 CDs. So be patient. This is not unusual. Other "media servers" such at Escient and Audio Request take 24 - 48 hours to process a full buffer. There is a lot of data processing going on during this time period and the result is amazing music management once completed.

I recommend clients load 10 CDs in the morning and let it process till after lunch. Then another 10 CDs and let it process until after dinner. Then another 10 CDs and let it process overnight. This routine completes 30 CDs per day.

If you have 100 to 400 CDs an automated services is available from HouseSys.com. This is the only automated service available for this system.
