Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
Are you watching blueray movies or dvd? if dvd's work but blueray discs don't then the lens could be dirty, but its best not to mess around if your ps3 is still covered by its warranty? if its covered by its warranty its best that you contact either sony or your dealer for service and get it fixed up for free.
if your outside of warranty, you could try cleaning the lens yourself.
Heres one video I got from youtube:
heres a take apart video also from youtube
I don't recommend using a cd or dvd lens cleaner in this case, you should call sony and ask about what lens cleaner they recommend.
Best solution is to get sony to repair it for you, even more so if the lens cleaning doesn't solve the problem, then the drive has other difficulties might have to be replaced sony will take care of that aslong as your on warranty if your outside of warranty the repair is 150.
and note if you happen to be on warranty taking the console apart voids it.
you can read about the warranty and contact sony with this page.
heres another take apart guide if your going to try cleaning or replacing the drive yourself
