Question about Compaq Presario Fan
My laptop recently crashed and I had some one repair and restore it which included reloading windows xp and now the laptop in getting really hot and the fan does not appear to work is there anything that I can do?? By the way the fan worked before it crashed.
Ok, first off i have a feeling that reinstalling xp had nothing to do with your fan. Locate the fan vents on the side or back of your notebook. Buy a can of compressed air and spray out the vents. My guess is you have plenty of dust. After that boot the computer and enter the bios menu. Look for where it displays your temperature. Leave it running like this overnight. If its still on, check the temperature. If its above 70 C you have a bad fan, the same holds true if it doesn't last the night.
