Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

Nintendo DS lite Slot 1 bended pins

My Nintendo DS lite will not read games so I called Nintendo and they told me to check my slot 1 for bended pins. I'm guessing the problem with my DS lite slot 1 is bent connector pins. Nintendo said it would be 60$. Where can I go or who can I contact to get this fixed for cheap? I live in Miami, Fl by the way.

When i insert in a game in my nintendo ds lite it says there is no game inserted and when i insert a gba game into it it works please help me! thx

Check the SLOT 1 for bent pins. You will need to look inside the slot, preferably with a torch and see if any pins are bent out of shape. If you see any bent pins, use a small screwdriver to gently bend the pin back to where it should be. Check also for any foreign items in the slot which may prevent correct contact.

try compressed air.
more then likely its a hardware issue. try getting an R4DS card and download games from if you dont want to repair it.

Nintendo DS Lite not reading game when you put it in. Will say no cartridge??

This is a very common problem and is usually due to either dirty orcorroded pins in the game slot or a bent pin. Sometimes it can be the game contacts are a bit dirty but if its the same with all games then its the slot pins.
It is sometimes possible to clean the pins in the slot with some fine abrasive paper rubing the pins in an in and out motion, not side to side. The pins are extremly delicate so you may end up bending a pin which basicly leaves you with a slot change.
It an easy job with the right tools and a bit of skill using a soldering iron.

Nintendo ds lite not reading games cards My ds will not read the games, it shows that ther e is not a game inserted. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

I think your responses are elementary and people are looking for propable diagnostics in a whole, not, "send it in to Nintendo". No S**T! Do you think they'd repair it for you? Come on people the point of this site is for people to work together to become more self reliant in fixing our products ourselves and stop throwing away electronics just because there is a bad fuse or something. I can't believe that 4 people said "blow air in it". !?

How do you remove and open the ds card slot?

You push down your DS card to get it out ,and to put it in you take the card you want and push it in slot 1.

Ds old slot pins bend

Its difficult to repair that without right tools, and even with the tools is still hard to do it.
Depending on how much bent are the pins you would need to rectify the bad pins with very small pliers or tweezers and a flashlight, you can also desolder the bent pins and take em out the slot to repair one by one and insert again in the slot. The most of the cases you would take the risk to break pins and then need to try the next solution.

Replace the whole Slot1 buying it on ebay or other place, or you can take it out from a parts DS, but you should need a soldering iron, blade and patience to get the slot1 out of the mobo. The ideal tool is a hot air soldering station but its very expensive. Or you can get a parts DS with good mobo and replace it for your bent slot one which is the best option.

Nintendo ds lite won't read card

had this problem, i looked into where the game goes and one of the little metal teeth was bent, so i took a long toothpick and gently pushed it back over now it works fine. Be careful that you dont break it off though.
