Question about Kitchen Ranges

Our fan forced wall oven St George Model no. W.D.L.V. 81 F.O. is only heating up to about half the heat it always did, then the roasting light comes on even though the roasting function is not supposed to be operating. Could this be a faulty main element?

Hi

You need to check the screw in fuses, they are usually the 30 amp fuses for the oven. Next is the clock assembly, often these clocks will have the words "push for manual" or "turn for manual", this will put the clock back into the normal operating mode rather than the automatic mode. Next, you may have to remove the power and check for any burnt wires. If all checks ok, you will have to test the selector switch and oven control.

If the temperature is too low then the possible trouble makers, blown oven fuse, bake element is out, burnt wire, oven probe clips, oven temp control, oven temp sensor.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Have a chef fan forced wall oven model number EOC624W - everything working except there is no heat

Check the house circuit breaker for the oven. If 240 isn't present, everything else will work except the heating element. The circuit breaker will have it's handles joined so if one trips they both trip. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work, Meaning one can trip without tripping the other so only 120 volts is supplied to the oven.

I have St. George Imperial Fan Forced Oven with Griller (Wall Oven) SGW FO need measurements and specs also model number ?? Can someone please help me have been looking on net for ages...Getting...

you should find the model number between the bottom of the griller door & the liner .. silly place really to get at... as you cannot remove the grill door as you can the oven door.
we have just rebuilt one from two we acquired ... best oven ever .... there will be a few different models as these were produced & cosmetically changed over a 20 yrs period. Ours now looks like a brand new oven as they are REAL baked enamel ... you can clean with caustic based product without any harm.
I am searching for a manual if anyone has one mine is 67/wdl.v.81.fo I presume the 81 in the number denotes 1981 manufacture.
Don't be fooled if you find the oven does not heat at some stage & everything else works ... this is usually after a cleaning & the auto on & off timer has been activated ...just a matter of setting back to manual mode.

Hope this helps although you have probably solved by now having posted in April 11.

Anyone have a manual for this model would be appreciated .

Smeg oven

This tutorial will show you how to check your Smeg element and how to replace your Smeg cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Smeg manual.
  2. If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Electrolux built in wall oven, lights and digital display work fine, fan works fine, but the oven will not heat regardless of the mode (broil, bake, convention roast, convection bake)

Hello stevefer
Welcome.

You said, Your Electrolux built in wall oven, lights and digital display work fine, fan works fine, but the oven will not heat regardless of the mode (broil, bake, convention roast, convection bake)

First,
1.What is the Model Number and the year of your wall oven?
2.Did the oven light up and display with any error codes?
3. Did you try to turn the breaker off for 5 minutes to see if this will reset the system?

Perhaps the heating element is failing and may need to be replaced.
I will be able to better assist you when you reply with this information.
Waiting your response.

Hi, we have a St George wall oven that is making a loud rattling noise that starts when the oven is heated and then comtinues after the oven is turned off. Any ideas on what might be the problem?

there is a casing fan which is out of sight and that is what is making the noise. take oven out, remove top and fan will be revealed. may have to be replaced or possibly try a squirt of wd40

Smeg oven

How long is the oven in operation before you check the air flow ? Most Smeg ovens are electronically integrated and sensitive.
