I need to replace the start switch on my Frigidaire electric dryer Model # FSE447GHSO. How do I do this? How do I access that front panel area where the switch is? (my previous two postings resulted in solutions completely unrelated to this question). Can someone PLEASE help? Thank you.

There should be screws on the back side of the top panel that come out. Then the panel will slide out so that you can access the front controls.

Check the video at the following link and see if you find the information helpful in changing the door switch. Sure hope it does and best wishes.

Unplug your dryer (seriously, don't forget to do this.)
Using a thin screwdriver or putty knife and a cloth (to protect the painted surface) insert the screwdriver between the lid on the front left, then right and pry the lid up. There are no screws to remove to get the lid up, just two spring clips. Lift the lid and allow it to lean back. It will stay there nicely, but be careful that the lid does not get pushed back down with your fingers in there.
On the right hand side, there are two (white) connectors that you need to pull apart. With good light, you will see where to press to open them. You can not re-connect them wrong.
Look down inside the front of the lid-less dryer on the left then right side, you will see one Philips screw on each side that needs to be removed.
With the screws removed, pull forward on the front panel untill some clips release and the panel leans forward.
The bottom of the front panel sit on clips that do not need to be removed. You simply list the whole front panel straight up and you can then turn it around to get at the switches.
Hey, while you have the front off, vacuum the inside and pull all the lint out of the area beneath the lint screen which is all located on the front panel.
Inspect the belt, looking for wear. You can turn the drum easily with your hands. Also, the drum light is probably burned out. They ship with a lame night light that burns out really fast. I went to Home Depot and found an LED replacement (with the proper size base) which I am confident will last a long time.
Hope this helps.
