Is it a thinkpad t20? you need the sound card drivers.

drivers for the t20 available here
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-4JSQHB.html
its under audio, select the one that is right for your operating system.

if its any other model or another brand those drivers wont work.
send me the brand and model in that case.
Thanks,
Ekse

Most laptops have built-in sound card and speakers. You may just need to check the sound settings on your computer. To do this, please follow the steps below:

FOR WINDOWS XP and VISTA:

1. Go to the Control Panel and click on "Sounds and Audio Devices" or "Sounds" icon.
2. Go to the Volume Properties tab and maximize the volumes specially the Master Volume.
3. Make sure that the "Mute" boxes are unchecked.
4. Go to the Audio tab and you will see "Sound Playback" and "Sound Recording" with drop-down arrows on each.
5. Click the drop-down arrow and make sure to select the default speakers for your laptop.

If same problem exists, you may need to contact the laptop manufacturer and request to check if the sound card diver is properly installed.

Good luck!

Need to enable wireless adapter on hp compzaq 6710b laptop

Can you check to show whether your wireless adapter is showing up in Device Manager? (Go to Control Panel if you don't know where to find Device Manager) Your wireless card should show up under Network Adapters. If it does not, check your unidentified devices for "Unidentified NIC" or something like that.

If you do see it as an unidentified device, visit the HP site's support section to download the latest drivers for it.

If it is listed in the correct section, make sure it is enabled by right clicking its name and selecting enable. (This option will not be visible if it is already enabled)

If it is identified and enabled, try to uninstall and reinstall HP Wireless Assistant.

If none of those work, you may have a hardware issue and you should gather your warranty and support information and give HP a call.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO OK I NEED THE AWNSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will not be able to find an answer if you do not ask a question or state a problem. Currently we know that you need an answer on how to do something but you don't state what your problem actually is. Please resubmit problem so that we might better assist you with a solution.

Also putting many exclamation points at the end of your statement does not assist in getting a solution any quicker. Thank you.

My laptop displays sound icon but its not sounding out at all. i have tried to download the sound but to no avail. please assist me. thanks

Are you sure you got the right software for the sound? Type into google something like "(Your laptop model) sound drivers." There should be a link to the manufacturers site that contains all the drivers for your laptop. Download and install them. If the sound still doesn't work then worst case scenario is that your speakers are broken. Reply if you need any more help.

No sound my computer. i am instaled the audio driver realtech AC,97 but then open the music file my compter give me answare no sound driver in your computer.

1 Right click my computer.
2 Properties.
3 Hardware.
4 Device manager.
Check you have no yellow asterisks next to any of the sound, video and game controllers, if you have right click and uninstall. Reboot the system wizard should find new hardware and reinstall the driver correctly.
The computer may well be a Compaq but the sound card will be something else i.e., a sound blaster or something you need to know what card it is to get the correct driver.
If the sound has worked previously the computer should still have the correct driver in it and uninstalling and reinstalling should work.
Is the computer a laptop with a built in sound card or a workstation and you are trying to activate a sound card you have installed i.e., not the one built into the motherboard?
Compaq is normally a workstation not a laptop anyway let me know and I will try and advise you further.

Toshiba Satellite 2805 -- need DOS sound card drivers.

You pretty much need to know the name of the card to find the right drivers.
I'm trying to harken back to the days of yore, to remember if my 3.1 system even had a device manager in the control panel, but maybe I'd have to be sitting in front of it again. That old 386...
Try running DEVMGMT.MSC: (opens Device Manager ) at a command prompt and see if you can't find a listing for the sound card installed on your system, but I think this didn't work back then.
I've had good luck finding a variety of drivers here, for what it's worth. You might also try the small list of archive file available here

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!
