ProScan 26LB30Q Aspect Ratio reset itself: too large all settings

The various aspect ratio options worked at first, but then at some point they were automatically reset to a size where all options yield a picture that is too large for the screen size. Everything looks like "Zoom" mode and graphics are cut off at top and bottom of screen. The top and bottom grey bars disappeared from "Wide" mode, which now fills up the entire screen.

The setup menu includes only two settings: "Menu Language" and "Reset." Reset appears to do nothing.

There could be a possibility that the screen resolution of your computer changes automatically. Once it changed automatically, the LCD monitor will be affected.

Since you mentioned that resetting the monitor does nothing, you may need to isolate the problem. Because, it could be the monitor or it could be the computer's screen resolution.

Here are the things that you need to do:

1. Try to use different monitor to see if you will get the same problem.
2. Connect the problem monitor into different computer to verify if there's a problem with the monitor.

If the problem follow the computer, follow the instructions:

FOR WINDOWS XP or VISTA:

1. Right-click the desktop screen and go to the Properties.
2. Go to the Settings tab and check the resolution
3. Set the resolution to the native resolution of your monitor (example: the monitor requires 1680x1050) you have to set the computer resolution to what the monitor is rquiring.
4. Click Apply to save the changes made.
5. Restart the computer.

If the problem follows the monitor:

1. Turn off the monitor for about 10 minutes.
2. Turn the monitor back ON and reset the monitor.
3. After the reset, turn it off again and give for about 2 minutes before turning the monitor back ON.

Good luck!

Hey, this shouldn't be too hard to fix... go under like a set up menu... then click like screen size or screen width. or something along the lines of the picture's size.then you just resize it from there once you find the size settings its pretty self explanitory and straight foward...

Why do i have a large line at the top and bottom of the tv

This is caused by aspect ratio. To change you have to go into set up and alter the ratio shown as 9:16 , not sure what ratio you will have . Note som tv's have an auto chaning aspect ration for films ect.

Aspect ratio problem -- will not display 4:3

You should have an option in your menu for "ratio lock"... many older screens have a ratio lock setting that you can enable or disable. Hope that works!

Video files are not displaying right aspect ratio when copied in Windows dvd maker.

If you go into the dvd options dialogue, you find there a DVD aspect ratio option. This option lets you determine if a slide show on the DVD is displayed at 16:9 (widescreen) or 4:3 (standard) aspect ratio.
Alternatively: go into your settings and set 4:3 Pan & Scan or from 4:3 PS to 4:3 LB whichever your aim is or well whichever aspect of a movie you want to see.

If this helped please rate :)

Picture is cut off

Try setting the set to 4.3 expanded on the aspect ratio. If that don't work try the other aspect ratio settings. That should make the picture fit the screen.

How to change aspect ratio

That sounds like the setting. You would be using less pixels with the 3:2 aspect ratio. Since you said you had cropped the photos prior to sending them to the printer, you could have cropped them to a 3x2 ratio. I do that often. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements and when you use the selection tool, you have the option of setting the aspect ratio to 3:2 or anything. Then every selection rectangle will be 3:2 and you only have to decide how large to make the rectangle and where to put it. Then when you do the crop, you get a perfect 3:2 ratio photo. When you select the rectangular marquee tool (selection box) the Options line will appear just below the row of shorcut icons. If it does-not, click on the "Windows" button at the top of the page and make sure that "Options" has a check-mark beside it. On the Options line you will find a box that says "Normal". Click the "V" to the right of "Normal" and select "Fixed Aspect Ratio". Then in the two boxes to the right enter the numbers Width 3 and Height 2.
