Question about Bose Companion 3 Computer Speakers

Open Question

Need circuit board

When i went to bed last night my bose companion 3 speakers were playing just as well as they always do but when i woke up and booted them up they were making a soft crackling sound. when i unplug the sound plug form computer the sound persists. Ive tried repluging all the power cables and all that good stuff and still persists. please help! I have the bose companion 3 speaker system. my input jack in the back(the one that looks like a headphone jack) cracked and is no longer working. I took apart the woofer and removed the internal amp's circuit board to assess the damage. I believe the jack piece is unremovable andor unrepirable. I need to find out where I can get a new circuit board for the internal amp, as it seems that is my only possible solution.

I know it is the plug to the left of the red and whites but am not sure if is repairable or if the board itself is available to purchase

SOURCE: crackling sound

That sounds like an internal fault on your Bose system.

Leave the Bose unplugged from power and from computer for one hour, to get rid of electrostatic charges accumulated inside capacitors.
If that does not get rid of the problem, then there is an internal fault, either a short on speaker wiring, or a fault on the internal amp circuit board.

Bose repair

Does not seem very complex. I think it is because of the broken fuse. Simply Open the back part of Bose companion 5. The Circuit board attached to the back part is basically for the Audio output socket, Control pod Connector and Power supply connector. on the Left hand side of the board you will find a fuse soldered with the board. most probably that fuse is broken. replace the fuse if broken or just connect both end of the fuse with thin wire (temporary) to check. Hope it helps.
I am outta home or else i could have added an image for you. maybe tomorrow.

Thanks

Main Bass speaker not working!!

Hello Adam Hi, it looks like your main IC amplifier inside the main bass box is bad, need to replace that IC. What are your plans, do you want to do the repair or have it service by a tech guy.

Another possibility: make sure both speakers are at least ten inches away from any router.

Bose Companion 3. Speakers are very faint in sound. The touch pad seem inoperable. (the green light on pad does not come on.)

Check first that you have connected the speaker to the right output. For example on many computer there is an aux output marked in blue that can give you this problem.

If the problem does not depend from the source, then that sounds like an internal fault on your Bose system.

Bose companion speakers

hmmm.. well if you system is like mine it has multiple ports for sound. Try the speaker plug in the front of the machine.. better yet .. to ascertain whether or not it is your speakers or sound card issue then plug some headphones in to the port and see if you have sound. Never forget the basics ...is the sound muted? Open your sound eq application and see if the wave output is turned down.

Keep me posted!!! and Good luck!
