Can this drive burn onto dual layer dvds?

I was told by the store electronic guy that I could use Memorex DVD+R DL on my burner. I have tried several times and my Burner does't even acknowledge the disk. Is there a setting on the burner to allow DL? Or maybe there is a software. I can't afford to buy a new burner.

WizThis is a single layer drive only. Usually dual layer drives have DL in the form factor so possibly a
NEC DVD+RW DL?
