I have a Fridgidaire PLHS267ZCBO fridge and the Damper went. Need to install a Control Box Kit-Part # 5303918283. I'm somewhat handy and would like to try this on my own. Is this tough to do? Can anyone walk me through this? Mine keeps freezing, anyone have any help out there? the back hex screw does not want to come out...

I ran into a similar problem but finally got the screw out. It was just tougher to turn, so I pushed hard and got it out.
Anyway, I am getting ready to replace the damper kit 5303918283 on my 2003 GLRS267ZAW6 Frigidaire, and my concern is with the thermostat wires that go over in the freezer compartment from the damper opening. They seem to come out, but I am concerned that I will not be able to put them back through.
Looks like you just went through this work a few weeks ago.
Any thought, hints or suggestions?

I have a similar problem with my Frigidaire side by side. Couldn't move that last recessed hex screw for the life of me but after rechecking its size and seeing that it's the same head as the other hex screws I just pushed really hard on it while unscrewing and it worked. It is a lot longer than the other hex screws holding the assembly, maybe that's why. After doing this exercise I am feeling more confident that I can do this repair and will go ahead and order the replacement damper assembly kit. Good luck with your repair.

Control panel number 4

Hello, There has been a couple times, Frigidaire was sending out the wrong control board in the correct box ( believe it or not it happened to me 2x ).. finally i had to call ELECTROLUX directly and had them send me the board direct to customer.. i believe that the 4 is because there is a wiring issue with one of the microswitches where the damper motor is and it will not allow the damper / control board to recognize "open" position ..I don't know how old your fridge, but in this case you should get a tech out with some testing equipment. Thanks Mike

Refrigerator side is freezing.

The damper control which is the control for the refrigerator has gone bad not letting the damper door close to control the airflow into the fresh food section. the part number is 5303918283 at a price of about 245.00. To me this is rediculous but that is the manf suggested retail. It should be a crime to charge so much for this particular part. Soory on the cost but it is the problem.

Freezer is working but refrigerator is not

My Maytag (side by side) had a similar problem, turns out to be the damper door. The freezer does the cooling, there's a damper door between the fridge and freezer that opens and closes to control fridge temp. Find the damper door and prop it open. If the fridge temp drops overnight, you'll need a new damper ***'y.
