I have an Insignia Tv model 50D550NA15. It's only 2 years old. Wa watching tv and screen went black. Sound works but no picture. What circuit board controls picture?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board......

Insignia tv-30 inch ---model is-tvhd30 has burned capacitor-c359--need to know the value in mfd's.

If it is in the power supply better check the rest of them. most should all be the same value so you may be able to get the value for the burnt one from that. good luck

Insignia lcd 37''powering off and right back on by itself!

Hi Ed,
Since the TV is less then a year old and still under manufacturers warranty, I would suggest to take back to the vendor to get it fix because this LCD behavior is not going to get any better.
The failure on this TV is related to a power supply in most cases if the TV is turning OFF by itself or needs to be unplug to let cooldown and it works afterward.

Insignia NS-LCD37-09 turns on but no image

If your TV is less then a year old, still under manufacturers warranty. If not under warranty the defective parts could be the power supply or the back light inverter board. Both boards can be replace easily.
The way to know if you have a defective backlight inverter is by shinning a light from a flash light near the screen with the TV on and check in a 45 degrees angle if you have a dark video in the background, if the video is present then you have a backlight board failure. If no video, then is a power supply failure.
I have both boards if you want to buy them.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

I fixed the problem with the "no power on, low clicking noise". The NPN transistor (2SC5931) was shorted. This transistor controls the horizontal hold. The shorting caused the power supply to overload and restart, then recycle. This was the cause of the clicking noise. Unfortunately this transistor was over $50, most likely due to the extinction of CRT's. I did find a replacement transistor 2SC5552, which only cost $2 (but I was able to get it in Mexico). The location of the transistor is located on the left side of the TV (looking from the back). Directly in front of it is the high voltage transformer which powers the CRT (should have a thick red wire). The transistor is attached to a large aluminum heatsink. To remove the transistor you will have to remove the entire electronics assembly to you can easily get to the underside. This was the solution for my TV, but there could be other components damaged.
