I have a cordless optical trackman that i purchased about eight months ago. After a recent computer update it no longer works. this has happened before and i was able to fix the problem. I attempted to use the same technique to no avail. I updated the the driver (setpoint) which seemed to make things worse. I also lost the interface that allows me to adjust and reprogram buttons.
Do a system restore back to before you did the update.
See if that works--it should, as you seem to have pointed to the time that it stopped working.
You didn't say what technique that you used to fix it before, but this should work.
You can also go into the control panel and see if you have, in fact, designated this device to be your mouse. I have run into several systems that, when I went into the control panel and looked at the mouse that it thought was installed, it seemed to have changed. You'll need to set it back to what you want.
