Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console

1 Answer

No disks reading.

Recently my power supply blew up and the PS2 wouldn't go on anymore, I changed it with another power supply, apparently mine had a 125 V one in it while they told me it was 250V (I live in europe) now I've put a 250V power supply and the PS2 can switch on again, all the browser menu's work etc, but suddenly it wont read a single disk, no games, no DVD's no CD's, nothing, on the browser screen it just sais 'Reading disc...' forever. Please help!

I have a PS2 110v(us), i plugged it on 220v(phils). Is it repairable? When I plugged it, I did not notice any slight reaction from my PS2. It just did't work. I tested the AV cable and it's...

It's probably repairable, but I don't think most people have the tools laying around. It likely just needs a new power supply, but Sony doesn't use commonly available components. You could definitely send it into Sony for a quick and easy repair, and it likely wouldn't cost very much. If it's not the power supply, they would also be able to tell you what the problem is. However, plugging it in on the wrong voltage likely means that the power supply blew out. Everything else should be fine.

I have an JVC DRMH50 and it has ceased to operate the hard disk. has ceased to read and write. My question is: how to change a computer's hard drive with similar features or need any special software...

Apparently you need special software for the hard drive. I had problems with mine and the power supply eventually gave up and I had to replace it from JVC. Looks like it is a common problem.

DONT FORGET TO RATE SOLUTION

1. CLEAN THE LASER. ALWAYS DO THIS FIRST. MOST TIMES THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO GET YOUR SYSTEM BACK RUNNING A 100% AGAIN

2. IF THE LASER CLEANING DON'T WORK ON YOUR PS2 SYSTEM PERFORMANCE THEN TRY ADJUSTING THE LASER VOTAGE.

3. IF THE LASER VOTAGE DON'T WORK YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE LASER

Won't power up

If i was you i'd take a look at the power supply now because the powerboard if it had a serge or somthing it would have safty switched itself if this is the case it should just need to be reset. if its the disk drive fiddle with it try unjaming it any way possible weather it requiers a beating or not because you can pick up a disk drive very cheap and the console them selfes are tuff reliable devises i fixed mine a number of times just by dipping it in metho

Playstation 2 problem

I would try cleaning your Playstation games, Check and make sure that the games your trying to play are not cracked in anyway. Also, if you have your system standing vertically lay it down horizontally. Many times after you've closed the disk in it lens to far away from the lens.
