    Thanks Spark9.

As the unit is factory installed unit it is difficult to check all wiring. I guess we will just have to stick with it for now and have the dealership check it out at next service.

I had hoped for an easy solution like a stuck switxh that may be easily released.

    Cheers

    Don.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

All buttons seem to be functioning Ok but not responding or allowing change of channel or from AM to FM.. Seems to me like a bad internal connection within the unit which will need service technicians help or replacement whichever is cheaper.

Thanks to all for your help.

    Cheers

    Don

It seems that this station mas replaced all the other station frequencies and has all the memory settings oat this particular channel. If you remove the radio from the bracket look for a pinhead sized rubber coated button with a slight depression n the center. Use any pointed object like ball-point tip, making sure that its not very sharp. Press gently till yu feel the pont comig in contact with a hard object. That is the reset button for the radio, just like Scientific calculators or small notepads *** planner *** clculator. By pressing that button will force the radio to go back to its factory default settings. After that use it as you normally would............................................................sodeep

Check the mike for the set. It might have been accidentally set at mike position. Thus its not responding to any other functions. If you can cancel the mike status by pressing the mike button again till it releases itself, then your radio will work normally..............................sodeep

Try to press back the # 1 button, M1 means that memory 1 or press #2 if still no improvement. I assume that one the button is stuck ( continuously pressing). you can check it by pressing all button one by one, good switch or button will sound click every time you press you can hear it by moving your ear near to the switches. If there is jam switch or bad sw. you can't hear this click sound. Once you identified the problem simply change the defective sw.

I have a Clarion installed in my boat. Sirrius, cd am fm. No jack to plug in iPod. Solution?

FM Modulator.

(clarion makes a hardwire direct connect one)

FM200

You would use a 3.5mm to RCA adapter

There are also battery powerd ones (Belkin)

b935a1c.jpg

Either one is used by simply tuning in to an empty (white noise) radio station.

Im assuming the XMD3-RET is not the radio you are inquiring about since you described Sirius as a feature.

Some clarion radios have an AUX input or changer port that can be converted to an ipod cable.

If you reply with a model # i can look it up for you. I am a Clarion Dealer.
