Dryer will shut off after 10 minutes of operation. I have replaced the timer and that does not make any difference. Where do I look at this point?

this is an electric dryer. I also turned the temp control from high to med and it completed the cycle. Does this mean the temp control needs to be replaced?

Check the high limit thermostat. if its damaged, it will allow the dryer to become way to hot, tripping the shut off. check the door switch as well. if its faulty, it will shut off the dryer periodically.

Timer
The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is faulty replace it. If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem

Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat inside the tub. Replace the heating elements.

Sounds like the knob is not on correctly, or is not the correct knob, or the plate with the numbers on it has moved. When it turns off naturally, does that line up with 'off'?

My dryer will shut off ten minutes into the any drying cycle and then won't let me turn it back on for another 10 minutes.

first clean filter, element could be putting out to much heat, and safty swich shuts it down, or it coud be a bad thermocouple, , lets hope its not the timer, if it does this on cool tumble, its ur timer, (dial switch)

Dryer will only run for 10 minutes at a time

Hi, this is heat related. the timer module on this unit is overheating, in return, it is shutting down due to the heat generated but the faulty timer circuits. you will need to replace the timer device asap.
