Cub cadet 2160 PTO problem

On my 2160 the pto will not engage, no clic when the mower is off and the switch is turned on. no power at the connector going to the pto. Problem began intermeittently, used to just hit the forward and reverse a couple of times and it would come back. is there a sfety switch attached to the forward/ reverse that can go bad I can't seem to find away into that area on the right side of the tractor above where the reverse swith is located. Or could it just be a bad PTO switch. cub cadet lt1046 pto stopped working after 19hours of service

Yes, there is a switch on the motion lever on the transmission, but there is also a relay switch that is taped to the fuse under the hood of the mower...if this goes bad, the deck will not come on

For my 1042 PTO problem I found this. In the back right near the pedal linkage there is a green wire (ground) and a yellow wire. The yellow wire was broken. I tracked it down to a red spade connector on the transmission. I removed the connector and then took some wire I had and crimped a new spade connector on it (had to bend it 90 deg). I also needed to extend the broken wire so I used another crimp joiner to join the two wires together. Plugged in the spade and voila it worked.

Toro 11-32 won't start.new battery. i jump the terminals it fires right up. 2nd problem is the deck won't engage I hit the switch and nothing I leave the seat it shuts off when engaged

Check and see if the Engagement termnal on the solenoid is getting power. If it is replace the solenoid.

As for the PTO check for at its connector for voltage. If voltage is there check for about 1.7 ohms resistance across pto coil. If it reads infinity or less than 1.5 ohms replace the pto clutch assembly.

If the pto reads less than 1.5 and there is no voltage at the connector than the pto switch is probably burned up due the shorted pto.

The pto will not engage when switch to turned on

The light just indicates power is available for the PTO clutch. It doesn't it reaching the clutch. You need to unplug the PTO clutch and check to see if voltage is there. If it is there then clutch itself is bad or the wiring from the connector to clutch is broken. If no power at the connector then you have wiring problem and may even have part of the PTO switch not working.

42" Troy Bilt zero turn PTO switch

I would first look under the machine, check the wires leading to the pto clutch. There should be a connector/plug, make sure it is clean and plugged in completely. Also, check the wire harness grounds to the frame. Otherwise, you'll have to check the switch, power going to the switch etc. Usually, they are wired thru the safety switch harness so, could be a bad saftey switch, or bad pto switch. You'll just have to start testing wiring.

Pto not engaging in john deere lx 167

Check the voltage on the wire(s) connector to the PTO switch. Sometime portion of the switch can go bad. If you have voltage coming in to the switch check the output voltage going to the clutch..

If it were me I would check the PTO switch with it running and use a dvm or test light to see if switch is working or defective , you could just have a bad wire connector at the switch or at PTO clutch ....look for discoloration or spread terminals, good luck
