I have a Frigidaire side by side.Model frs26hf5a and the ice stopped working.I noticed that the chute the water comes down had an ice block.I heated that up with a dryer and it melted and started making a little bit of ice.Now it has stopped after about a day.I havent changed the water filter for a coupla years.The water in the door comes out but not as fast as it once did.By not replacing the filter cause the ice maker to stop?Do you think its not getting enough water to the ice maker> I have a frigidaire side by side. Hi: Change or just remove the water filter first. As your water dispensing slowed that is a clue. If the water filter is that clogged it will cause a problem with the ice maker. Plus the water you drink is not filtered anymore. City water is being run through 2 years of crud. If you don't replace it just remove it. I hope this helps, Jeff

This could be a leaking water valve. First thing I would suggest is to turn the water supply off under the sink or behind fridge wherever its located and see if the leaking stops.If so then you'll need to replace the water valve on fridge. If this doesn't work look up inside the ice chute on front of door and make sure the flapper is closing all the way when you get ice. Warm air coming up into freezer because the flapper is not sealing tight can cause water to run down front of fridge.If this is the case there is usually frost buildup on the ice chute on the inside of door.
I think you will need to unplug the pin plug under the cover at top or bottom hinge. Check the voltage and if OK leave unplugged until you can remove the dispenser and I will try to help you from the power source. Sounds like a short in the board and related to the light socket. The fuse only stopped the short from doing further damage, You may need to locate the short before replacing the fuse or board. I have looked over the wiring diagram. If you find the short without my help just be sure to replace the fuse with the correct size. The only things are the chute heater or something in that area of the board went to ground. The filter does effect somewhat the flow of the water. For some people having problems with ice dispensing it may be as simple as lifting the metal shut off bar up and down. Then check the top of the ice tray to make sure no ice is stuck up there. When you move the metal bar up and down you should see the plastic dispenser that pushes the ice out turning or rotating. Hope this helps.
