SOURCE: YAMAHA RX-V630 WON'T POWER ON NO CLICKS

If the unit is like the Rx-570 , the display bulbs have quit.
Theyre 14 volt lamps about 0.1 wide x 0.250 long (white wire leads)
Located in the plastic shroud behind the display

SOURCE: Wont do anything

Sounds like the stanby transformer has gone.
This is the transformer that turns the main transformer on and powers up the unit.
Cant be certian though, could be a host of other things.

How do I reset a yamaha rx-v493 receiver?

Disconnect any speakers from it and see if it still turns off. If it doesn't, then you have a shorted speaker or speaker wire. If it does still turn off, then it would need to go in for repairs.

Just simply, what speakers do i use with a YAMAHA RX-V 493 RECEIVER

ANY that are nominally 8-ohms and can handle around 100W RMS. No other limitations. That's why they have specs.

I have a yamaha rx-v493 reciever and no speakers what should i get that wont blow and wont empty my wallet

Of course you know you're asking a question that could attract more opinion than useful facts.

If you watch the volume and buy efficient name-brand multichannel speakers with REAL bass-handling capacity you'll probably love the sound without endangering your speakers or your ears.

As it is distortion more than raw power that kills speakers you need to keep away from pushing the amps beyond their RATED power (roughly 70 wpc into 8-ohms, @1khz, <.04%THD. I'm a little concerned that the spec in the manual qualifies it as only 1khz instead of the ore honest and meaningful 20-20000 hz it states for the RX-V393.

An under-powered amp will kill speakers faster than an over-poweredf one as it will enter its high distortion region much sooner.

Play-it-by-ear is good advice. If the amps sound strained, back off the volume.

Your room size will play a huge part in the perceived loudness while your household's aesthetic sensibilites will limit the size and visibility of the speakers. Compromise between form and function is almost guaranteed.

Being a long-time audio enthisiast/collector, set in my ways and unwilling to bow to appearance at the cost of the sound, I use full-size (70's and 80's era) Bose speakers (901's and 301's) throughout the room and augment them with a couple of huge subs and large Kenwood 777 center speakers. It ain't cheap or pretty but it rocks movies and music.

I would recommend you do some research into "home theater speaker recommendations" and read some user comments for the various offerings out there. You'll be in a relationship with your A/V system for a long time. Take the time to get it right.

Check the internal fuse inside the unit. If it goes again, after replacement, get back in touch with us. If OK check the transformer and the power switch.

The unit does not work

check the standby power supply first and then the main power supply.also check the output transistors and fuses your problem is in one of those points, normally the standby transformer goes bad, it is the small one right next to the big one.
good luck

Yamaha AV Receiver Amp RX V493 Bose Speakers have stopped working

If you already check the output of your Amplifier is good then the problem is the speaker.Check the resistance of the speakers, if no resistance, then it already busted,or maybe the connection of speaker wire to the cone is loose or crack try to check it out. Then if you check already and it tight no crack ,then the problem is in coil winding of the speaker,it needs to rewind...

Hope this may help,

Yamaha RX-V461 receiver audio

Disconnect the unit from the mains at the wall socket. Leave powered down for 5 mins to ensure a good reset and turn unit on again and see what happens. If there is still no life. Check for failed fuses inside amp. ALWAYS RELACE FUSES WITH THE SAME RATING AND TYPE.
